Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Stateseverything was exceptional from the beautiful details in the room, the closeness to Uluwatu center, the friendly staff and the jamu tonic every day. I enjoyed my stay and will return again.

BelgiumWe were a bit dissapointed that we could not rent a scooter at the accomodation. At first because they were all rented out but then they were also more expensive than when you arrange it yourself. I feel like in all other places we stayed in Bali the rental via the hotel was always smooth and for the correct market price. In a hotel where you pay enough I feel it’s a service they should provide for the correct price.
It’s a little oasis with a beautiful lush garden and a perfect pool to chill during the day. The staff is also very welcoming and friendly.

United Arab EmiratesUsual shortage of stuff (just few options of cocktails and half not available because there is no tequilla, or vodka). No more bread for breakfast. Sorry we ran out of towels. No iron even on request. Not clearly mentioned on booking or website that it is an eco hotel and some of the usual amenities are not available.
The pool, garden, atmosphere, outside shower. Good reataurants within walking distance.

AustraliaThe only thing I found unusual was there are no coffe or tea making facilities in the room or no fridges, however the staff were quick to accomadate us with a small fridge as I needed to keep my medication in a refrigerator. I understand now not having these appliances was all part of their eco friendly values. A small oversight that did not affect our wonderful stay at this lovely little boutique resort, highly reccomend.
Loved the quietness of this place, very intimate and relaxing, felt like a home stay, very authentic tropical vibe. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were amazing, nothing to much of a bother for them. Girls at reception gave 5 star service through out our stay and made sure we were well accomadated for.

United KingdomThe lighting in the room was minimal so it was a little hard to see at times. Early Friday morning (around 7am) we could hear the music from the gym across the road. Our room was the closest side of the grounds to the entrance so maybe that's why we heard it. It didn't happen any other mornings but maybe take ear plugs just in case.
What a stunning hotel! The whole place is beautiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the outdoor bathroom was beautiful and even though outside we didn't notice any bugs! The staff were incredible to the point I thought they had mistaken us for some sort of celebrity couple because they were just so welcoming and eager to please. The pool area was lovely, never struggled to get a space or deck chair. Air con worked well. The cafe had really nice food and drinks and was reasonably priced. Good location too, we could walk or get a gojek to everywhere we wanted to go with ease. They are expanding to build more rooms soon so we will definitely be back.

AustraliaNothing - it was perfect.
This is like a little oasis. There's about 8 bungalows dotted around a pool set in lush settings, but it is so private and discreet. Breakfast and lunch is available, and there are several restaurants/bars within a 5 minute walk. It's good to hire a scooter though, as Uluwatu in general is pretty spread out. Rani & Rasta were brilliant concierges and all the staff there just make your stay so easy and pleasant. Would stay again without hesitation.

AustraliaThe ONLY thing was that there was only a small amount of storage in the room.
What a wonderful hotel in a brilliant location! The staff were incredibly friendly and polite and management often personally checked in to check that everything was okay with the room and to ensure that I had everything I needed. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the pool is great. The restaurant served beautiful, healthy food and once again, the staff were lovely. The room was cleaned every day and the decor was beautiful. The bathroom was outside which I LOVED. Really well located, near plenty of restaurants and beaches, as well as a great gym (Bambu). I would highly recommend staying here and am already inquiring about availability for family and friends next year!

GermanyThe only thing we have to complain about is that our room neighbours were really loud, the cabins are very noisy and unfortunately the fitness studio Bambu opposite plays loud music very early.
We completely enjoyed our stay at Mule Malu from start to finish. The Mule Malu is a beautiful, well-kept oasis in Uluwatu. The hotel facilities are great, the small huts are very clean, the staff is very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The best thing is the delicious breakfast!!! We tried everything and can recommend EVERYTHING. The lunch dishes are also perfect. Around the Mule Malu there are many very tasty and high quality restaurants. Also a plus! We would always come back and have already recommended it to our friends :)
