Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe bathroom was very narrow and had a strange layout. The hallways needed more maintenance.
The views from our room balcony, restaurant and pool were fabulous. The staff were very friendly and the food was good especially the sticky black rice pudding. Location was great for both the waterfall and rice field treks.

AustraliaIt is comfortable but not luxurious, the most difficult part of this place are the stairs, if you are unfit or not fully able or scared of high, I would not recommend it. Just for indication they were 109 steps from my bedroom to the restaurant, so you better not forget anything :)
Amazing pool with view, water was cold but absolutely stunning vista on mountain and the sea far away. Friendly staff who was kind to move our luggages up and down, and who would also bring down drinks and snacks to the pool

AustraliaThe food was pretty average. I'd suggest going to one of the local cafes near the hotel. The Cafe 2 is a mlfew mins away and run by a local women's collective.
The views were stunning. And the beds were supper comfy. The staff helpful and attentive. The family rooms were perfect. Lots of space and secure.

AustriaHardly any vegan breakfast options.
The hotel has an infinity pool overlooking the jungle which is absolutely breathtaking. The sunrises and sunsets there are amazing. The hotel is perfectly situated for the Munduk Waterfall Trek, which I highly recommend. The food on the menu is very traditional, which I loved. I had some of the best Nasi Campur. The rooms are very spacious with a lovely view.

NetherlandsWe felt a bit uncomfortable that the girls at the reception were laughing while we were discussing the rate for pick up. Before I put in my creditcard, they were giggling, and showing each other the number of rhupees, felt a bit like a scam, escpecially since the amount was quite high, but we had no other way to leave the resort. Would have been nicer if they had talked and discussed it with us instead of with each other. Also, lot of dead bugs in the room.
Beautiful pool, great location for the waterfall hike. The view from the room and pool is magnificent. Breakfast was nice! Also the staff at the restaurant was very friendly.

United KingdomBreakfast left something to be desired and was disappointing considering this was our most expensive accommodation of the trip.
Beautiful view from our rooms and pool. Staff were accommodating in letting us stay for one night shorter than we booked due to the bad weather. Staff brought us a beer, coke and can of Pringles each though free of charge!

United Kingdom1. WiFi only worked in the restaurant / pool area, however, there is so much beautiful nature it really isn't a big deal, but if you were needing to work it's unlikely you'd be able to in your room (similar story with phone signal / data). 2. Breakfast was disappointing, toast, jam and butter with small selection of fruit and a few banana fritters with local coffee / water. Only when we were finished did we see another guest given scrambled eggs so perhaps you can request other items, but we were not offered anything but the continental 'buffet'. 3. Dinner in the restaurant was okay and relatively good value, but it was quite difficult communicating with the staff on occasion (but many of them are young and clearly training so it's okay). 4. Bathroom was a little tired, but one of the few places we've stayed in Bali without a bad smell! 5. Be careful that the pool is actually quite deep after the step, it isn't obvious haha! Overall, the value for money, comfort of the bed, location and stunning view really outweigh these minor things!
1. Stunning view from the pool and in house restaurant! Could even partially see from our balcony (pictured) and we were in room 1010. Hearing only the sounds of the wildlife at night was also really lovely. 2. Great location if you're wanting to do the hike to the nearby waterfalls (starting point is a few mins walk from hotel car park) - Reception will even provide you with a map. N.B. Hike is genuinely easy, but do keep in mind that there are A LOT of stairs for some of the waterfalls (especially Laangan Melanting) so not the most accessible. Similarly, it's a good place to base yourself for exploring North Bali - on the way from Canggu we were able to do Nungung waterfall, Bedugul Traditional Market, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, Banyumala waterfall and have lunch overlooking the twin lakes all along our route - and on way home Jatiluwih Rice Terrace wasn't too much of a detour. It is also close to Handara Gate and Hidden Hills Wanagiri if you're wanting the famous Instagram pics. 3. Comfy beds, nice big room and balcony. 4. Reception staff were really friendly. They even kindly upgraded our room upon check in just because! 5. Great massage (£10 for 1 hour full body) at in house 'spa' (recommend doing before it gets dark as it is quite cold in Munduk anyway (definitely bring a jumper when you come to North Bali!), even more so when the sun goes down and the 'spa' is really an outside cabin so not the warmest...). 6. Great value for money considering the view and location. 7. Could fill up your water bottle before hike at breakfast - an eco friendly option not often available in Bali.
