Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyNot a flaw, just know before you go: breakfast consists of a cup of coffee and a small sandwich – sufficient for me but left my husband hungry. There's no hot water, though the pleasant outside temperatures made it perfectly manageable. Despite these minor considerations, our overall experience was so positive that we're already planning to return. Nuansa Homestay offers a unique and genuine escape, leaving us with fond memories and a desire to revisit soon. The best memories from Indonesia!
We had a delightful stay at Nuansa Homestay, immersing ourselves in its rural charm and authentic accommodation. The host family was not only friendly but truly lovely and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. The traditional Tongkonan house was exceptionally clean, and surprisingly, no mosquitoes bothered us. One highlight was the fantastic guide (Mr. Natan) they provided, enhancing our experience.

ItalyMy dream of sleeping in a traditional tongkonan came true! Aldhi and his family are the best host, they really make you feel at home. Aldhi was really nice, he came to pick us up at the bus station at 4am, and he's a precious source of information for the Toraja land, he gave us a lot of reccomendations for places of interest and restaurant and he provided us with a scooter and a great guide (ask of Yuspan) for attending a Toraja funeral and visiting interesting places. I highly recommend this place

FranceWe didn’t stay in the traditional tongkonan, but in the the room inside the house, as the tongkonan seemed to be double booked. It didn’t bother us, we had a truly amazing time at Nuansa.
Stay at Nuansa Homestay was one of the highlights of our trip. Aldi and his family are the kindest and most welcoming people we’ve met in Indonesia. It was wonderful to talk to them over dinner and learn more about their lives. They helped us with getting a scooter and we’re really helpful throughout. The room we stayed in was basic, but very comfortable. We had a great night sleep. The bathroom is new with western toilet. Thank you for having us in your lovely home.

Staying in a tongkonan is a once in a lifetime experience, Aldi and his family do their best to make sure you have a pleasant stay in their homestay, i had a good time. This special place is not far from Rantepao, but in the countryside, so the atmophere is quiet and relaxed, i even had the chance to have real indonesian/toraja dinner and breakfast with them. You can also have a glimpse of real toraja life when they show you how they feed their animals or collect the local beverage from the trees.

PolandThe time I've spent in Nuansa Homestay was the best time I've had in Indonesia. I wanted to stay in tongkonan type of house, and I experienced it to the fullest! The conditions are very basic, yet everything is very clean and the bed cover and towel smell with freshness. Aldi - the owner is extremely helpfull, responsive and positive person. Always smiling and laughing with very good English speaking skills. Me and other guests had a pleasure to be served with the most delicios food prepared by Aldi's mother in law. You can truly feel here like home!! I recommend this homestay to everyone who wants to experience real life of Torajan people.

SpainIt is a little far from Rantepao, so sometimes it is an unconvenient to take transport or going to bank, restaurants, etc. But it depends on your priorities, for me it was worthy. In any case they are willing to take you and pick you up anytime.
Bedrooms in a typical house Calm place. Family is adorable and the owner tries to help you the whole time with everything you can need.

Amazing stay at Nuansa Homestay! Aldhi, the owner, and his family are lovely, they have helped us from the very beginning to the last moment: picking up us at 5 am, getting a local guide in Toraja, driving us to have dinner, helping to book the bus tickets to Tentena, and more. The accommodation was a traditional Toraja house, simple but very clean and well-preserved, making our experience feel authentic. If you are looking for wonderful accommodation in Rantepao, stop searching, Aldhi's homestay is definitely the place to be!

Amazing cultural experience from all above. You will live in contact with a local humble family but in a traditional private house as tongkonan is. Aldi helped me booking buses and giving directions for rantepao area. After 6 days of staying, sadly have to say good bye to them.

MalaysiaI can’t think of anything. I’m extremely happy here
The host Aldhi is super amazing. He is extremely passionate about his place and job as a host. He goes out of his way to ensure all my needs are taken care of. Right from the moment I booked his place until the day I left. All my concerns and even any bookings that I need to be done was helped by him ie my bus from Makassar to Toraja was sorted out by Aldhi. Aldhi is also super amazing in recommending you places of interest. Plus awesome places for their local festivities and food. He knows I love to run hence he even helped me book a run in Bori which is super amazing. The property I stayed in is a traditional tongkonan that is more than 300 years old and still in immaculate condition. It is beautifully surrounded by bamboo forest, open green garden and padi fields dotted with some village homes. In the mornings I’m greeted by the crowing of the cockerels and chirping of birds. Milly and Boy, both their cute family dogs will always be there to greet me. The Location is smacked between all the touristic places. A short 900m from KeKetsu, near to Rantepao town center and has laundry and shops within walking distance. The family feeling is awesome. Aldhi’s wife is a surgeon and her mom, ibu who glues everything at home and their lovely daughter Diana are really warm and kind. They know when to give you the space you need and also any help that you require.

United StatesWe had a wonderful stay at Nuansa Homestay. Aldi and his whole family made us feel so at home during our visit. He was very knowledgeable about the different activities we should do in the area, and helped us organize our travel schedule to make the most of Toraja. I loved the breakfast and the coffee, and the facilities had everything we needed. The Homestay is in a very convenient location close to the main city center, but far enough away to enjoy some quiet in nature. I would highly recommend Nuansa for anyone wanting to have a more authentic stay in Toraja!
