Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyPLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: We had an awful experience with this homestay and we would not recommend booking with them. First of all and most importantly, the room given to us has nothing to do with the one advertised on booking, especially the bathroom. On booking they have pictures of a nice clean bathroom which is all renovated for the room we had booked. It's not the case, the bathroom was old, moldy, extremely dirty and smelled bad (please see pictures). Additionally, the shower has almost no water pressure. For the bed, it was really dirty with blood stains on the bed sheets and the pillows extremely dirty. There was a cover and decorative pillows on the bed which hadn't been cleaned since ages. The towels given to us were used and stained. The rest of the room is in very poor condition with all of the walls full of mold. The furniture old and nothing to do with the pictures. We immediately reported this to "reception" saying that it was not the correct room and that it was very dirty and we needed new bed sheets. They told us they couldn't do anything as the owner was in Thailand. They did bring a change of pillow, but they even MORE dirty than the previous ones !! In all of that we tried to contact the owner via phone, booking, whatsapp and calling but seems like he has vanished... the people working there kept laughing at us and saying they couldn't do anything... We changed hotel and didn't stay at this extremely dirty room. In all of this we contacted booking to explain the situation and that we bad no response from the hotel but since the owner does not even reply to booking we didn't get a single penny back. Moral of the story don't be fooled by the pictures and don't book here.
The only positive thing is the location right in the center of Ubud.

very good value for money, the location is excellent and the rooms are clean and what you can expect for the price that you pay. The swimming pool has a nice view over the jungle and its calm and quiet.

South KoreaThe toilet smell is very bad. During my stay, I tried to fight with mosquito repellent and air freshener, but it was impossible. The swimming pool is not maintained at all. Facility maintenance has been done.

New ZealandI guess you get what you pay for. In Thailand you pay this price and get 4 star! Wifi basically doesn’t work. No towel change through the whole stay. The shower put water everywhere and wasn’t dried up - and wet bath mat left on floor. No English so hard to communicate. Swimming pool looked murky - unsure if it was too much or not enough chemicals. No one seemed to use it. I don’t like giving bad reviews - always try and find the positive but struggle to understand how it has an 8.6 rating
Location was good and very quiet

BulgariaThis place is a real hidden gem in the heart of Ubud in the middle of the street art market. We arrived late at night and thought the driver got the wrong address - (the market is covered with black covers at night and looks a little sketchy) but after we found the door for the place we entered in a magical movie set. The garden is extremely beautiful and nicely decorated. There are flowers, birds, fish, fountains, statues, temple of course and a small pool. In the day the street turns into a busy market, where you can find a variety of souveniers and buy gifts. Hosts are very polite and positive which make your stay even better. The breakfast was nice, nothing special, but different every day and served with love. It was so nice having it while hearing birds chirping and enjoying the nice garden. The location is top notch! You go out and are right in the middle of the art market and next to a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and and sightseeing places(Saraswati temple and Ubud Palace). Take a coffee in the morning in the Jolted coffeeshop. 10 min away you can find a wonderful walk in the rice fields - Sweet Orange Walk Trail. We had a room with air conditioner and it was nice and cozy. If you rent a scooter - just across the street - you have no problem taking it into the place and leave in front of the villa, which was very convenient.

Nyoman was an amazing host, every morning he brought a fresh flask of hot water to each room so they could help themselves with fresh coffee and tea. We also missed our breakfast and he whipped a crazy delicious meal in seconds.

AustraliaThe room was quite run down and dirty, the bathroom floor mat was filthy but for the price it was okay
Very central location, close to peaceful rice paddy walks but also close to the lively shopping area. Lots of great restaurants and cafes in walking distance. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Was really nice to see daily family life of the owners and their children, especially Papa placing the offerings around the beautiful garden in the mornings. We had the room with the jungle view and it was very private and felt like we were right in the jungle.

Everything. Amazing central location in the heart of ubud but the homestay is so peaceful and you are nestled in lush greenery with the sounds of the birds and nature. Beautiful grounds, swimming pool and large spacious room with giant bathroom. Breakfast is included and all the lovely people that work there are so helpful and kind. 10/10 best value for money and would recommend to everyone. Can't imagine somewhere better for the price.

United KingdomIt’s wonderful
The hosts help in any way. Just lovely people. The breakfast is generous and changes each day. The environment is gorgeous and the pool well cared for. Everyone makes sure you feel at home and welcomed and this is just a wonderful place. The rooms are cleaned whenever you request and anything you ask about is graciously responded to. The ponds of koi carp, the bird song, flowers and trees all represent a beautiful sanctuary , as a relief from the many attractions in the bustling town of Ubud. The rooms are large, with lovely outside terraces/ balconies and seating, overlooking the pool. Food in the restaurant is delicious. Try the tamarind fish curry. You’ll love everything about this place

ItalyThe location is excellent, right next to the royal palace and the main temple, in the center of ubud but when you get into Nyoman Homestay you feel like you're in the jungle. You don't even hear traffic noise. Amazing! The family that runs this place is extremely kind and helpful. In addition to breakfast they do lunch and dinner as well and the food is very good! If I will ever come back to Bali I will definitely stay again in Nyoman Homestay.
