How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The beds were quite close to eachother
- The room was very clean - beds were very comfi - enough showers and toilets for everyone - big lockers (even for big backpack) - privacy curtains you can use during the night

I was a little disappointed with how run-down the place was. All of the lockers in the room were broken. The door to the locker I was assigned was literally hanging off. The lock on the bathroom door was broken. I got along with the kids in my room so I trusted them but I could've felt very uncomfortable esp. with guys in the room. There was also no hot water for the 3 days I was there. The room and bathroom was cleaned daily but not up to standards. I saw their cleaner cleaning it one day and he basically did a courtesy sweep! He was very not motivated and he also gave me creepy vibes. Also, no drinking water provided. It's literally a no-frills place and you get what you pay for. I knew that going in so it didn't bother me but if you are picky not the place for you. I hardly interacted with the staff. They were never around except for the cleaning guy who I mentioned was a little creepy!
I was looking for a place right or close to the beach and the location of this place fit the bill. With the side access to the beach and close good cafes and restaurants. In fact when you come out by the side entrance, you are right at Tigerlily Beach Shack, which faces the ocean, where you can set up camp for the entire day, if you want. It's within walking distance to the port to catch the fast boat. I was assigned to a co-ed room for four--two bunk beds so I shared it with three friends (two guys and a girl) from the UK. It came with its own bathroom, which was great, except I was sharing with young adults. So you can imagine! Decent A/C and mattress and duvet. You need the duvet if you are on the top bunk bed right where the A/C is!

Our room did not have functional AC. When we raised the issue, staff called the mechanic but the repair did not fix the problem. After a very hot night, we decided to move to another guesthouse rather than sweat. Rooms have large gaps so mossies can come in. Place needs a bit of attention - things like broken bannister on the stairs and mold growth on the exterior seals of our frig. The vibe of this place is driven by the dorm guests.
Nice pool, friendly staff, decent food, lots of excursions available, scooter rental. This is a very easy place to organize things from.

Tea & Coffee facility in the room would have been good. Access to the upper floor not good for any mobility problems. Bathroom was ok but had to walk through it to get to bedroom. No hot water in wash basin but that was apparently normal in that region.
Clean, comfortable, very good location and very helpful staff. Easy access to beach.

There was construction work going on in the main lobby which gave a bit of noise. The room wasn't too comfortable because of the open window in the bathroom and the slat in the balcony door. If you have mosquito protection, it's time you use it. There are power cuts, which I was warned about in the hotel book and AC will stop working if that happens. It's good value for money especially seeing that it's so incredibly clean.
I liked the location of this hotel because it's not on the busy street, but it's near the main town. It does get dark when you walk back by yourself. The pool is nice and there's easy access to the beach behind the hotel. The hotel is great for surfers and divers because you enter the bathroom first and then the room. The room is incredibly clean! Even though all the windows and doors are open I never found a but (apart from mosquitoes of course)

Stains on the sheets but they were cleaned. Shower head needs replacing
Staff were really friendly and ac in the room was very much needed. Rear access goes straight out to beach. Booked onto snorkeling which I recommend and they arranged the return ferry

A cozy home stay! Very helpful and accommodating staff. The bed was comfortable and the dorm was clean. Big curtains between the beds for privacy.
