Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelarusBreakfast could be better. The rest of my negatives relate to the area in general and my expectations, not this place, but perhaps it will be useful to someone. There is an environmental problem in Kintamani, apparently due to improper agriculture or other exploitation of nature, there are a lot of flies there. This is very unpleasant, they crawl everywhere during the daytime (there are no insects or flies in the house, everything there is well protected from them). The hotel has a regular pool with cold water, that is, it is not a hot spring (but it’s a 10-minute walk to the hot springs). The road to the hotel is very bad.
First of all I have to say that the manager and employees of this place are super welcoming and attentive. They solved all our questions and offered immediate assistance. Privacy, close to hot springs and to the climb, nature, well-groomed grounds, neat and dry houses.

VietnamWe enjoyed the place very much, when we booked the room, we got the number of the place and got much information from the manager, so we made up our mind and booked the transport, as well as the mount Batur climbing tour with them, everything is more than what we expected. We would like to give a special thank to all staff there, specially the young man (sorry I forgot his name, but he has long hair) he is genuenly friendly, and very helpful, he speaks very good English as well !!

NetherlandsThis was one of the best places I stayed during my trip. The staff is so so so friendly. At night they build a bonfire and I learnt so much about Balinese culture by talking to staff. Also the trekking arranged by hotel was 10/10. If you are looking for a place to stay, this is it!

New ZealandLoved everything! Somethings to be aware of I saw in other reviews - Yes, there are flies but the rooms all have fly screens to keep them outside! The water is full of minerals so you can see where water has sat in the bathrooms but they were extremely clean on our visit 👌 The area is developing quickly but don't expect all the food and luxury of Kuta/Seminyak etc. Eat local and take your own snacks if you're particular!
Beautiful spot at the foot of Mt Batur. Angga went above and beyond to make our stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible. He helped us arrange transport, meals and a guide up the mountain. He was friendly and available as was everyone on-site! The food was delicious (the Ayam Bakar was AMAZING), the pool gorgeous and the rooms very comfortable. Such a great place to stay if you're keen to see the Mt Batur sunrise but not keen on getting the 2AM shuttle to the Mountain trial!!

Very good stay! Especially if you're planning on going up Mount Batur for the sunrise trek, which the accommodation can book for you. Very comfortable bed, lovely hosts and yummy food.

Oemah Batur was a beautiful place with immaculate lush gardens. Staff were very friendly and bed was big and comfy. Batur trekking was also amazing and recommend the guide from the hotel as he was awesome. Also had two hotel dogs accompany us to the top of the volcano and back!

NetherlandsLovely small set up, with a beautifully maintained garden en pool. The rooms are spacious and clean, great beds and big bathroom. The personal touch was what struck me most, as the establishment is runned by a family and is what really stands out. They are caring and very accommodating, making sure you have everything you need. We made a last moment decision to go up to mount Batur between our Komodo trip and Ubud stay. And was super easy and very efficiently arranged. We arrived late on the day and were picked up by their driver. In the morning Maddy the local guide picked us up for our Mount Batur track. Maddy was super, supporting us and making our trip was memorable! As the track to Mount Batur passes the lodge it’s a super easy start of the track and not so early as other tracks, we started at 3.45 am. When we got back a lovely breakfast was awaiting us. We cannot thank the lovely family enough for their super service and kindness! We will certainly come back and next time stay longer to also enjoy the father’s cooking, he’s famous for his amazingly cooked fish!

I can not rate this place enough. Booking was straight forward and we were contacted to ask if we needed anything before we come. They organised the best personal guide for our trek up the mountain and organised a discount at the local authentic hot springs. Ate there one night and for breakfast and the food was amazing. One night the chef was off and we were too tired to take the short walk to local restaurant so they ordered in a delivery for us. So so kind. The location is perfect, in-between two mountains and right on the trail to mt batur. The accommodation is clean and has fly nets on the door so keeps it clear for a good night's sleep. They light a fire pit at night and it was lovely to sit around with other guests and staff chatting. The air is so fresh so we did need this and a jumper at night. Very nice touch.

BelgiumThe road leading to the hotel is rather in development, so it was really bumpy and not lit. Especially when you're on a motorcycle, it was difficult. The whole area around is actually in development so it's becoming better but it also means that there are some construction works at the moment. (a little noisy but not bad)
We arrived rather late and had the chance to warm ourselves up at the campfire. We had a nice talk with staff and they recommended activities to do around the area. (They have partner prices) Very nice room with a very soft bed. There was a lot of space in the room and it was equipped with a water cooker and fan. Breakfast was delicious, we recommend the omelet.

An amazing place if you are planning to hike Mt Batur! It's right at the bottom of the trail and you get a hike with the accommodation also. I actually went one day by myself during the day. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and make a fire for everyone to sit around in the evenings if they want to socialise.
