Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIt is a basic accommodation.. no airco.. minimum comfort, need to take that in mind, also what you pay for. Be aware there are many (big) steps to take to go to the water, to your cabin, to the restaurant.
Kind staff! Restaurant options. Trip option to go dolphin watching and snorkeling was fantastic!! 100’s of dolphins around the boat. A French couple brought their GoPro to also look under water, which was amazing. Very very breathtaking. Also snorkeling was great! Many differ colored fish swimming around the (mainly dead) coral.. but still great to watch! Nemo, parrot, morene, puffer fish, huge jellyfish, etc Take the tuktuk that the accommodation offers to take you from the harbor to the resort, nice to see the surrounding! Snorkeling is also possible directly in front of the resort. The driver has a contact on mainland that you can use on the way back, we can recommend him to take you to the tsunami museum. Take cash with you, ATM and pin machine at accommodation do not always work.

GermanyThe bungalows are very hot at night, we knew beforehand that the room only had a fan, but we weren’t prepared for sweating that much. And the beds are very hard.
Very very nice and helpful staff you could always have a laugh with. We had a garden view bungalow, monkeys were jumping through the trees, birds and huge, beautiful butterflies were flying around our balcony. The whole location is very green with many trees and plants. The hotel has its own plank from which you can jump into the crystal clear, turquoise water. Directly from there it’s amazing to snorkel through the small reefs and watch lion fish, Nemos and rays. The food is delicious, especially the guacamole and the vegetable coconut curry.

SwitzerlandRoom was very dirty, not only leaves on the floor (which isn’t that bad) but also the sink and the shower were very dirty. Ocean view bungalows are quite expensive, the rooms are very basic.
Alvin made some greeeeat food! Eka was always reachable on whatsapp- unfortunately Ive never met her. Booked the ocean view Bungalow- the view was amazing! Renting a bike was possible and they purchased towels in the rooms. Laundry was also done quickly.

NetherlandsWe almost missed our ferry back to the mainland due to mishandling of the staff, which was very unfortunate and stressful. We fixed transportation back to the harbour a day prior and were told by the staff to be ready at 2.30. We were there even earlier, at 2.15, and there seemed to be a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding, but we were told to wait and relax and the transport would be there in 10 min. After 45 min, still no sign of the transport. The staff still told us to relax and that everything would be fine, although no one seemed to know what was going on. It seemed that we would miss our ferry, which meant missing our nightbus back to Medan. It was terrible. The staff took no responsibility whatsoever and their communication was really poor. Finally, after 60 min, a becak arrived, we jumped in and we rushed to the ferry. We were able to catch it, because it was a couple minutes delayed, otherwise we would have missed it. In conclusion, the accommodation is fine, but don’t rely on the staff. Maybe get your own transportation to the harbour to avoid very stressful situations.
Nice spacious bungalow, perfectly located right next to the sea

The atmosphere, the willingness to make you welcome and comfortable. I've been a visitor to Eka and Olala for 18 years would I have done that if it wasn't worth while ?

IndiaThe Bungalows not good, as there are many holes on the walls, allowing insects and geckos to enter easily, as I could not sleep because of my fear of geckos. The place is also far from public services. The entrance to the road is very bumpy and unpaved
