Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaWe received an upgrade and the villa we stayed in was absolutely fantastic with our own pool. Putu and his team are amazing, super helpful and easy to reach via what’s app. Always there for you if you need anything. I also rent a scooter from them which we enjoyed a lot.

SwedenThe stay is under construction so the pool area wasnt too great as all the furniture and everything was covered up and ”not in use”. Also big windows in the room which is usually really nice but they only had dark curtains blocking people from looking in which made the room very dark. Would be nice to have an option of bright curtain so the light still comes through but still blocks the view in.
Good location, friendly staff, nice and clean rooms and beds!

AustraliaLovely little homestay with a decent location and great communal pool area. Good bathroom with hairdryer included which isn’t overly common I’ve found. A bit surprised to find there was no TV in the room although clearly an aerial and power port on the wall indicating they may have or are planning to wall mount one at some stage. Not a dealbreaker though as you want to be out and about exploring the area anyway.

AustraliaThe room was right on the street side of the property so a bit of road noise at night but not so much that you can’t sleep. We were hoping for a mini fridge to keep water cold in, or at least a communal fridge but nothing of the sort was offered.
It was a nice, cute and cosy Homestay. Pool was a great temperature and loved the day beds in the outside area. We were pleasantly surprised to find a smart TV that we could sign into our own streaming service accounts to watch TV. It was a good price, location, and value, compared to almost all other options in Uluwatu we saw when booking.

United KingdomA fridge would have been a great addition. Quite steep steps for the upper level rooms - although wasn't a problem for us. We also extended our stay one more night and moved to one of the front room (by the road) which was noisy from the road traffic, a bit smaller but at a slightly lower price.
great location, modern design, good ac, clean and spacious room, nice pool, lovely owner, scooter rentals on site.

FranceThe guesthouse needs some decoration / some love. But other than that I can’t complain for the price.
Very clean, recently renovated, good location (5min scooter to padang padang or Bingin). The room is bright, and was cleaned everyday. Safe

UzbekistanOne time it was no water for 15 minutes, because of the refilling the water tanks.
The new pool is awesome, bigger then in some places in Bali. Price/quality - on very high level! The owner is very nice

PhilippinesThe toilet sewer smelt strongly and the paint was peeling from the walls in the room from the dampness. Also, the staff barely spoke english aside from their boss who was only rarely there to oversee ongoing construction.
I liked how serene and quiet it was. The room was bright and had a large bathroom with soap!

SingaporeAlthough it did not bother us too much, we found a cockroach and a little gecko in the toilet the first morning :) The room smelled a bit 'funny'. Also, there was a big storm at night, and the doors were shaking, making it hard to sleep peacefully.
The room is big and clean, the staff is helpful, the location is quite good, and the price is very fair. We booked the Olas to be close to Padang Padang beach, and our stay was wonderful. The area is full of restaurants and cafes.

GermanyNothing, really. You could not use the safe - it didn’t look safe, to be honest. But that was it. I think an additional FAN could do (when someone does not want to use the AC) and a moskito net for the bed - then it would be perfect. There were some works on course when I arrived - but I had the impression that when I mentioned it, they made sure they reduced the work. (So again: these owners react to inconveniences. That was at least my impression)
the cleanliness. The functioning AC with the hot temperatures outside. The wonderful garden. The owners: nice people and real professionals who know the importance of the details. And they work on the details - which is rare in Bali (to what I experienced)

SingaporeThe bedsheets and towels were everything but white, once used one time the towel was smelly and really not possible to use it again. The walls were damaged due to the high humidity. Tap water not good for brushing teeth.
The room is large and has everything ones would need, warm water, air conditioning, good wifi. I really appreciate it was quiet and had a nice garden where we could relax. The staff was nice and welcoming, they arrange the pick up from the airport for us.
