Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBecause of a fire in the restaurant (October 23) the new one was in the process of being rebuilt (should be finished by now), so had to eat in the reception/bar area. Overnight stop in jungle was very basic.
Very helpful staff, they couldn't do enough to help. Arranged jungle trek and local culture tour and transport to and from the airport. On jungle trek the guide made sure we saw lots of Orangutans and other wildlife.

CanadaA fairly long walk to the property plus Many stairs to access property. However they do offer porter service and once you are on the property you begin the jungle trek at the same level.
Beautiful location. The management organized exceptional private airport transportation as well as jungle trek. We were able to pay for all charges on credit card at the property.

LatviaThe walk up there was a bit steep, quite a lot of stairs. To that's a bit of a challenge, but nothing too bad :)
This place was amazing! The bungalow was so nice spacious, clean and the view from the terrace was overlooking the jungle. Their restaurant menu is great and the food was delicious. We also took a jungle trekking tour with them; it was so cool. We saw so many orangutans during the 6-hour walk in the jungle. I was really happy with the place and would stay here again.

NetherlandsI liked everything there is nothing I would change. People should realize this is in the jungle. So stop complaining about not having hot water or insect in the room.
Nothing in particular but everything was perfect. It’s clean and well maintained and very friendly hosts and staff. The sister of the owner (the chef 👨🍳) makes the best Klepon of Indonesia 😋

On the border of the jungle. I saw more animals sitting on the porch of my room than on the jungle trek. Staff are friendly and fun.

United StatesUnfortunately the restaurant was being rebuilt while we were there so we didn’t get to experience the resort in its full capacity. It should be rebuilt in a few months though.
Great location above Bukit Lawang on the edge of the national park. You can see Orangutangs and monkeys from your balcony. The staff were excellent and always available to help with anything.

The staff is AMAZING. They were so helpful and nice. They really spread a good vibe. The rooms are gorgeous as well as the property.

RussiaOnly the thing that we forgot to ask for a blanket, because we were tired, so it was cold during the night.
Everything from the start! Once we booked, we had everything we had to know, we got instructions on how to reach bungalows. Also, Gary helped us to book a tour with Ling, a great guide, that had a respectful attitude toward the jungle. We definitely would come back. We didn't miss anything, we had good food, water in availability, total trust and attentive staff.

CanadaEverything was perfect
What an amazing peaceful place and full of fauna all around. The gardens is maintained with such great care. Huge bungalow, shower was simple and rustic without warm water but it’s in the edge of the jungle. I’ve stayed one week there and Wawan took such a good care organizing jungle trek for everyone at his lodge. Always friendly and caring without being intrusive. You will see a lot of monkey just from you’re balcony and hear them at night.

South AfricaOur room's mosquito netting wasn't able to be untied, which meant at night often insects would nibble at you. There was also no hot water.
The location and staff were really awesome. The staff really helped to make our stay convenient. The room was convenient e.g. bucket and drying rack. The room was clean, but beacuse of the location it did get quite dirty quickly beacuse of the insects and geckos. The restaurant/lounge area was really lovely and the food was good. The rengdan and mie goreng were tasty.
