Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe bathroom sink was incredibly high up. I'm 5ft5, and it came up to my breasts... It was kinda weird but definitely useable. The restaurant was not good for dinner. One night, I had Nasi goreng and another chicken skewers. I didn't like either. I advise you go to Crystal Bay and eat from one of the stalls on the beach or meander down the road a little (towards the beach) and eat at Warung Bale Lumbung, unless you hire a scooter, then the sky is the limit. If you go into Toya Pakeh, definitely eat at Joglo!
I loved my spacious bungalow! It had a little front porch, and occasionally, I'd wake up to a dog sleeping on it (I love dogs). It was within a short walking distance to Crystal Bay, mostly along a dirt road, where you'll come across views, chickens, and pigs running around (not at the hotel... On the walk). The staff were amazing, organising a ride for a motorbike tour with things I wanted to do - Angels Billabong, Broken Beach, Tembeling Beach - and a driver for a car tour - Diamond Beach, the Treehouse and Teletubbie Hills (last one pointless IMO). They also organised my boat ride home for me, including a driver. The room was clean, and the bathroom was a good size (the water pressure was THE best I've had anywhere in Bali), with a little porch to sit at, if I wished to. The pool was a good size and so refreshing. I loved how, when I went on a tour very early in the morning (and leaving on my last day), the staff organised breakfast for me to take with me. It was so kind and much appreciated.

United StatesThis property is a little slice of paradise! Hidden away in the jungle but also a quick 10 minute walk to the beach. The staff was amazing and helpful in booking us tours around the island and transport to and from the harbor. The food was delicious and they served generous portions. We would definitely return.

SloveniaGreat rooms with beautiful pool. The staff was great, arranged us taxi, scooters, everything we actually needed. The location is a bit distant, but because of that more authentic. The nearby Crystal beach was beautiful, not crowdy as we expected, maybe because of not so perfect weather.

AustraliaEverything was perfect.
Penida Bay Village was a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are very large, clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and keen to help with transport or any needs you have. The pool is fabulous too. The Brekky is huge. We never finished it. I ended up taking the fruit platter back to our fridge in the room to have for afternoon tea each day. The restaurant is very popular each day and night because the food is great, cheap and generous in size. There were about six or so other eating places to choose from with similar menus and prices. Communication before arrival was quick and helpful. They came and picked us up from the harbour for 200,000 IDR(four people). The distance from the beach is probably around 500m but it's a flat easy walk. (There's no closer accomodation to Crystal Bay anyway.) The area is very quiet and surrounded by jungle. It's beautiful. I highly recommend to stay for at least two nights as you can hire a scooter and get easily to the site seeing areas on the west coast all in one day. Much better than in a van as they spend most of their time in traffic jams. We were able to scoot round the vans and get in and out while they were stuck in long lines just waiting. We loved our stay and will be back for sure.

South AfricaNothing really to fault on.
Neat, clean, comfy rooms in beautiful, peaceful nature setting. Much quieter than other places we stayed at in Bali. Lovely pool area. Good breakfast included and onsite restaurant with delicious local food and even really good Alfredo and bolognese pasta!! Friendly, helpful staff. Close to Crystal Bay, but a little further frim other attractions. Easy getting around if you rent a scooter from then. Nice for families and couples.

VietnamFar from other restaurants, but that is like most bungalows on nusa Penida that are not in the northern part.
The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Exactly like the photos if not better. The pool was very nice. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the beach (crystal bay). Breakfast was very big and really good, with a few different options. Dinner was also good and reasonably priced. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

NetherlandsBesides Crystal bay, not so much to do in the area: not many restaurants and really bad roads.
Nice cottages, really clean and comfortable beds. Staff can arrange anything for you and you can rent scooters from the hotel.

Short walk to beach and we rented a bike there as well. All the staff were cute and hardworking! I didn’t get the girl’s name at the reception but she was top of the workers, always exceeding!

AustraliaWe had an amazing stay at Penida Bay Village! All the staff were so friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange a local driver named Annga who was amazing! He took us on two day tours around the island to all the tourist locations and recommended some great restaurants to stop at along the way. I would highly recommend him as a driver should you come to the island. Thank you everyone at Penida Bay Village for a lovely stay. :)

TaiwanThe one thing might need to be improved is the hot water was running out quickly so we showered with cold water.

ItalySmall details could make the experience feel more premium. Ex. more than two towels each, hairdryer in the room. It was a bit hard to comunicate with the staff, but I believe this is everywhere on the island.
The view is amazing, the property is surrounded by nature and hills. Rooms are very spacious, high ceiling and huge beds. The location is good, close to the Crystal Bay beach. The owner is always ready to help with advice, securing transfer etc.

United KingdomLovely spacious rooms, in a location surrounded by jungle. The grounds are beautiful with a very clean swimming pool area to relax at. Great location, only a 5 minute walk through the trees to Crystal Bay Beach which was perfect for our short 2 night stay. Ideally you need to rent a bike to explore more as there are very limited food options within the local area. My friend and I do not drive so found that after sunset there wasn’t anywhere we could go within walking distance, so would eat at the hotel restaurant which was okay - something to keep in mind if you do not drive.
