Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe road to the hotel is terrible! We rented a scooter and it was a tough ride.
Everything! Very beautiful room, balcony, view, setting, surroundings… amazing place! Breakfast to order, was not too much but it was fine.

FranceToilets may require a bit more privacy in the bathroom as there is no wall...
The place is amazing and the rooms really nice. Access via small roads isn't easy though and it is preferable to have an experienced driver. The rooms are nice, golf buggies are used for transfers to room/réception, etc. The service is really nice with special thabks and congratulations to Ryan and Jaya from housekeeping (a real sense of customer service!).

United StatesThe roads to the hotel weren’t great but that is common around the entire island and the road right in front of the hotel is a lot better. Somewhat of a down side is how far away it is from the north port/city center- but only 20 min drive
So accommodating, clean, peaceful and organized. They have a golf cart to take you up/down at any time of day. The spa was amazing. The restaurant and food was amazing!! Such a beautiful place and location. Very quiet!! We stayed 3 nights and would definitely stay here again! Would recommend to everyone!

AustraliaThe quality of the road into the property. However the staff organised a scooter to be brought to the hotel which made transportation much easier.
Almost everything. From the moment we arrived until our departure we were extremely satisfied. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, rooms and facilities were clean and tidy and the views are unmatched. Will definitely be returning.

AustraliaThe restaurant is at the bottom of the property so you have to walk down some steep ramps, then back up again. We didn't mind it and opted for the extra steps. Just something to be aware of. They do provide guests with a golf cart that will take you down and bring you up, you just need to request it. There were not good descriptions of what to expect on the tours or how to prepare. Take water and cash and request towels if you do any of the hikes or waterfall tours. It would be great if they had their own private guest access down to the water. There is some great snorkelling right there, but no water access.
The property is nice and everyone is very kind and friendly. There is an onsite spa and restaurant/bar. The rooms are comfortable. Common areas like the pool and sitting lounges are lovely places to enjoy the views. They are very accomodating and it is easy to communicate any of your needs or wishes via WhatsApp or phone. They arranged private tours for us to everywhere we wanted to go.

AustraliaNothing!
We stayed in the Royal villa and couldn’t fault our experience. Having explored the island and seen some of the other hotels, we were so happy with our choice. You’re unlikely to get a hotel of this quality in any other areas. The island is quite spread out so there’s only a few places where you can actually walk to restaurants and you certainly wouldn’t get these incredible views. It was so easy to grab a shuttle to reception and we were always able to grab a taxi through the hotel at a good price. The staff were incredible and so accomodating and helpful. If we ever come back to Nusa Penida, we will definitely be staying in this villa again.

IndiaIt's such a brilliant property but has quite a few kinks here and there that hold it back from being an easy 10. Request the stakeholders to take the feedback constructively and review if making a few changes here and there could really help the experience. - The Room. Totally fail to understand why the rooms are so dimly lit. Give the guests the option to dim the lights if they want but don't leave them to pack or search for something in such low light. Also, it could be better maintained or planned. Your shower water flows into the more central part of the bathroom as its connected by a stoned pathway. It cost a bomb to book the room. I just expect a bit more finesse. - Staff. They are nice people, but I wish they could speak or understand English better. I am all for hiring local, but lack of training just makes it more difficult for them to serve the guests better. Also, I have a feeling they are a bit short-staffed, considering it used to take quite some time to get a buggy to the room. Our room was on the bottom-est part of the resort and it was quite a steep climb up. Also, I feel there is a need to be more proactive. I had issues while we got in to the resort. The security just stood there as our driver tried to find a place to park so that we could unload our luggage. Also, while leaving, I had to carry the luggage from the room to the buggy. Just expected better service. - Road to the resort. This one is bit of a soft one. The resort cant do much about it. But the road leading up to the resort is wicked bad. But still, you can think of it as an adventure or a compromise for the brilliant location that this resort is at.
- View. We stayed in the ocean villa suites (Mola Mola Room). But do ask for the Manta Room in the same category if you have the chance. Couldn't have asked for a better view. From the deck, you could see the harbour, Nusa lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Mt Agung in the background. Waking up and opening the door to the deck, you can't help but appreciate where you are. Also, because our room was right on top of toyapakeh wall, which is a very popular point for snorkelling, we ended up seeing many turtles just swimming on the surface :) Also, the sunsets are to kill for <3 - The breakfast was fairly decent. It helps to get some exercise (read hikes, walks etc) before breakfast so that you don't feel guilty about eating fried rice early in the morning. You have enough options even if you don't want to eat Nasi Goreng in the morning and that made it great. - The Restaurant & the main pool. Similar view. Couldn't ask for a better setting for eating or chilling. - The room. It was massive and spacious and had two ACs to take care of the cooling. So very required if you are spending an afternoon inside.

PortugalThe access is terrible, very difficult and expensive to move around. A simple 1k drive can take you 20 min and it will cost you 20 aud at least ( if you dont book through the hotel) The hotel charges you double for activities and transportation off the normal price. Different staff members will give you different information and prices for the same activity. I had snorkeling booked and on the night before, a gentleman from the desk called my room at 9pm ( my girlfriend was already a sleep), to confirm and ask me if i agree to pay 45 aud for the taxi, when i already had the price discussed before at 30. It just seems off and unprofessional. Theres no transportation from the lobby to the rooms. Luckly we are a young and fit couple and we stayed closed to the pool area. Believe me, it does make a difference . It's VERY steep.
The location is stunning while in a very remote and difficult access road. The photos dont make it justice, the view is probably one of the best you'll ever get at a hotel. The rooms are just beautiful . Restaurant and bar staff were simply amazing. The staff prepared a birthday cake and decorated the room for my girlfriend, that was really nice .
