Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyThe staff wasn't friendly, I had a long flight, all the beds were free and I wanted to rest. Check-in was only possible from 2 p.m. They charge 20,000 rupiah per hour if you want to check in early. That's not much, but because the staff barely spoke English it wasn't clear that it was possible to check in earlier, so I had to wait despite the jet lag. The staff can easily learn two sentences

United KingdomPretty much everything. 1. We arrived late and tired with child - wouldn't let us into the room until we had sorted everything out. 2. Wouldn't let us split the bill between visa and cash - clearly useful near a major airport, and there was no reason for not doing. Effectively this meant the room cost nearly twice what it should have cost. 3. Room was tiny and dirty. 4. Only item of furniture was broken. 5. There was a window from the room into the corridor, with no cover, so we couldn't get the room to be dark - I kept getting out of bed to turn off the lights outside, but of course then someone else would turn them on. 6. At some point the receptionist said 'Are you happy?' This was clearly a question they are told to ask, as when I said 'No'. they ignored me!
We didn't really like anything about this hotel. The only good thing I can say is that having booked us a taxi at 2.45am to take us to the airport, when it failed to show up (which may not have been their fault), they did help us get another taxi.

GermanyCommunication did hardly work, staff didn't speak English at all. The service was poor in consequence. When arriving in the evening we asked for cooking possibility while doing the check in. It was agreed, that there was a place upstairs. So we checked, and although the "kitchen" was very dirty and poor equiped, found it suitable to use it for an easy meal. Thus, we went to the supermarket nearby to buy a few things for dinner and breakfast. It was just after that when we discovered the gas to be empty. The manager was like - oh, ok, right but I can't do sth about it - which left us hungry and with a shopping bag full of groceries supplying 6 people we couldn't use and could not take on the plane the other day either. There was no effort from the manager to at least organize new gas for the next morning, which left us disappointed a second time.

KuwaitOverall like the whole thing. We stayed their for less than 6 hours while waiting for our flight and the room is extremely dirty specially the toilet and bath the smell of the room since no exhaust no window. They didn't give us a toiletries and yet upon check out the guy is telling that we stole their stupid toiletries. The worst ever! even the front of the facilities is dirty the staff are always in cigarettes breaks not cleaning what they have to clean.
