My apologies to anyone I missed, as there were many wonderful staff members. Yes, the villas are amazing, and the grounds are beautiful—stunning, in fact. Yes, Sidemen Valley is gorgeous, but it’s absolutely the people who make Samanvaya so special. Special thanks to: Sri, Ketut, Diah, Anila, Gusti and all the others. During our three-night stay, we got to know many of the staff, and more importantly, they all knew us and were incredibly attentive and helpful. We made countless requests of various kinds, and nothing was ever too much trouble. It never felt like just a job to them; they genuinely seemed happy to help. Over the four days, we stayed in Alila 2 villa, it was absolutely amazing and did not disappoint. It’s so spacious and you kinda feel like home. You get a perfect view over the rice fields and of the mountains - every - single - morning. Lovely Since Samanvaya was one of our stops during our honeymoon in Bali we also took a whole couple treatment at the “Ananda Spa” - 150min “Romance in the valley” Definitely recommend! The food (and cocktails!) from Asri Dining were delightful, as were the breakfasts. A very good variation of different dishes and drinks. I don’t understand how Asri would disappoint anyone. We especially liked the “Mongolian style chicken”, “Seared tuna” and the “pandan crepes” The driver “Gusti” took us around Sidemen so we could visit our desired spots: waterfalls, a temple, silver class and other stuff. He was very attentive and knows the surroundings inside out. If we’re lucky enough to travel back to Bali, Samanvaya is at the top of our list—if there is a list, that is. My partner even suggested that next time, our itinerary should be: Munich - Samanvaya - Munich. We’d be more than happy with that. Cheers Oona & Stephan

The Asri Dining menu can be improved, especially foods from the region like Thailand and Japan. The taste is not authentic and tastes strange. Balinese food and western food are tasty. We like the bathroom, but we think the steps to the bathroom can be challenging for older folks, and the toilet roll position is way too low.

We love the tranquil and beautiful environment. Our deluxe room is clean and quiet with a great view of the garden. The swimming pool has a great view of the padi fields, and it is so relaxing lying down on one of the many day beds, just spacing out and looking at the clear blue sky and padi fields. The staff are attentive and helpful. Very good people and great attitude!

Light switches can be confusing there are so many of them. The restaurant food quality did not meet my expectations, the staff was very attentive and the service was great but the food in the menu was confusing, I got padthai and it came with red cabbage and whole cashews, the banana bread for breakfast was super dry and the juice was watery it might have been fresh but seemed like water was added to it, for much we ordered the fish taco and the traditional balinis platter, we ordered an appetizer the chicken skewers but we were not reminded or told that the balinis plater come with the same appetizer item otherwise we would have changed our appetizer option it was a decent lunch but not exceptional it's unfortunate that the restaurant food quality did not match the place level of excellence.

We stayed at Alila 1 the room was amazing in terms of decoration and the bathtub was great, the staff was super friendly and explained everything to us. the view from the room was nice and the stay was pretty relaxing.

While the lighting in the room was nice and created a cozy ambience, the room was quite dark which made it very hard to locate some of my smaller belongings in the evenings.

The entire resort is carefully designed and every detail in the resort helped me immerse myself into the Balinese culture. I stayed in villa Alila which had great views of the mountains and an overall cozy feel to it. While you're there, don't miss out on the "Best of Sidemen" scooter tour as it will take you to some really pristine and unseen locations in the area. Also, do yourself a favor and get a massage at the resort's spa; the masseuses are very well trained and patient even with the most ticklish of us.

The room wasn’t very soundproof meaning we could hear other guests speaking in their rooms and the animals in the middle of the night but overall amazing stay!

I ate some of the best food I’ve had in Bali at this resort. The views are incredible, the staff are amazing and the spa was so relaxing. Definitely book your stay here!

Beautiful property located in a less touristy part of Bali. Very attentive staff and the spa is very nice also. Enjoyed the infinity pool a lot. Also like that they give back to the community. Compared to what a property like this would cost in the US or Europe, it’s a bargain.

I could use an electrical socket closer to the table for my laptop. Everything else was just perfect.

Absolutely gorgeous place, perfect for recharging and trips to nearby places. The Batari villa was beautifully designed and spacious with breathtaking views of Sidemen rice terraces and surrounding hills. Whether it was raining or sunny, it was always cozy and comfortable. The pool was great for swimming and walking through the gardens and rice fields on the property was a bliss. Make sure you check out the restaurant which has a great selection and really good food and the traditional Balinese massage in the spa was one of the best ever.

10/10 This hotel exceeds my expectations and I can honestly say it's the best resort I ever stayed. We booked 2 nights in Mandala 2 villa but we loved the resort so much so we extended our stay for 2 more nights in the Rice Barn villa. Rooms are huge and everything is eco Services 10/10 Staff 10/10 Food 10/10 Location 10/10 It's quiet, luxury, amazing designs, in the middle of rice fields. The resort is surrounded by breath taking views, close to Sidemen Rice Terraces tracking and waterfalls. The staff is very well mannered, intelligent and kind.They even prepared a small surprise for my birthday They support the locals and the schools, educating children and helping communities understand the importance of recycling I will return here everytime I will come to Bali, it's the perfect escape if you want few days of relax, peace and quiet

The two bedroom Villa wasn’t as comfortable as it could have been. The bed would shake every time we moved and we had to walk down stairs to restroom and the creaking staircase would wake the occupants in the second bedroom.

Our room could have been a little bigger but the size was good enough for 2 persons.

Food was fantastic, dinner and breakfast very tasty and beautiful presented. All local staff and chefs which I admire from the hotel. It was one of the best hotels that we stayed at during our trip (stayed in 4 hotels). 2 swimming pools are not the biggest, but sufficient to cool down. Spa experience was great.

The most beautiful hotel we’ve stayed in! Service from all staff was exceptional with delicious breakfast served daily. Highly recommend the tours they provide, the cooking class and waterfall tour were fantastic fun. They even gave us a free room upgrade :) Would love to come back and stay longer next time!

Samanvaya offers breathtaking views over the Sidemen Valley. The resort is very well maintained, the pools, the gardens, the decorations, all details are thought of and the guests have a lot of privacy. The room was very nice and clean everything around is green and beautiful. I also visited the Spa and had a very nice and professional massage. I booked though the property a scooter trip to a nearby waterfall that was great, professional and timely service and a friendly and helpful guide. The food is very very good, though some people might find the portions too small. Around the resorts there are nice local shops and restaurants, the area is very peaceful and if you're looking to relax and enjoy the most amazing views this is a place not to miss.
