Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaNot a good place. Pics online tricked me, cause the color of the walls makes them seem out of concrete. They are not, it's just cardboard plastered with paint, meaning you can hear the guy at reception letting a massive burp like he was in bed with you. Men's dorm is next to reception lobby, so you can hear everything through the cardboard wall. There is no culture of not bothering others. I told reception that it's not quiet and they reacted. But a few hours later, at midnight, I had to wake up and tell they guy in the kitchen to lower the sound level of his movie and the staff member in the lobby again to be quiet while he was chatting to a guest. You can hear everything that happens in the hostel in the dorm because of the cardboard structure. The door of the dorm is the door from hell. It squeaks and wakes you up everytime it slides open. This is not a door fit for a dorm where people are supposed to sleep. Especially since a lot of guests have no common sense and slide the door open and shut six times in two minutes. But hey, if you are looking for a place where you cannot sleep, this is it. Men's dorm has no windows and it smells damp and so will your clothes after a day. Zero air circulation. Place is next to a road so due to the amazing cardboard walls you can hear every moto that goes by. Also when coming out of the shower with wet feet, careful not to break your neck. Floor is slippery. It gets cold in the morning and I asked the girl for a blanket. They have none. All they supply you with, what they call the ,,blanket" is a bedsheet to cover yourself with, so I woke up shaking with cold every night at 3AM, despite the fact that I put the AC on 28 degrees. It shows 28, but feels way less. The so-called ,,chill area" where I was planning to chill and relax in my 3 nights here is just 2 dirty uncomfortable chairs and a fan that doesn't spin.

FranceThe entrance door of the female dorms is extremely noisy. This sistem is not suitable for a place where people sleep. Lockers are small.

Costa RicaAlthough the room was nice, it was incredibly noisy. The twin room was on the ground floor and we heard the people smoking in the chill area until 2am and then the first people getting breakfast at 7am. Although the location was great, we had to leave a day earlier than planned because we barely had any sleep
Beautifully located in the center. Easily accessible.

RussiaTo me this accommodation looks as prison. You should strict lock the transparent door with net moving to corridor. If you are backpacker and looking for chip accomodation maybe it is ok I saw this shared living room on photo. There was guitar. In fact it is very hot room on sun side and guitar does not have strings I declined my accomodation. But cancellation in booking was same price as i should to pay. Booking??? What are you doing?? There was a huge demand for hotels these days. What is wrong? So i paid and didnt live there Staff said that they will try to resell my bed. But no replies anymore after it

IndonesiaThe room is beyond my expectations. I completely understand that this is a budget room with no ac, but the room is extremely hot. The staff is not really help me. When I got there by scooter, there's no parking space even for my bike. I had to park my scooter outside in the street. I decided to not sleep in the hostel because I won't risk my scooter and I sleep in another place. I came back in the morning only to give back the key. I know this is a self service hostel but the staff didn't give me enough direction. Also the bathroom is dirty and creepy.

CanadaThe room did not have any shelf or chair, so all our bags were on the floor (with bugs). The soap and shampoo were diluted.
The fan worked well and the room was pretty much soundproof. The staff was helpful and we booked an amazing tour.
