Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMinor things only - bigger storage lockers would have been useful per person.
Pool area was lovely with day beds and bean bags. There was massages available for 15 minutes each day. The breakfast of pancakes was lovely. Staff kind and attentive. We shared a mixed 4 person dorm - it was relatively spacious and clean. Comfortable beds with curtain. Shared shower and toilet between 4. I liked that we had electronic key for locker and door. They had social events on like quizzes if you like. Providing two towels each was great.

AustraliaThe place is located in the centre of Ubud, convenient to find everything I need. The price included breakfast, morning yoga, and a 15-minute massage. Fantastic chilled experience relaxing in the pool and getting a free massage. I love starting day with free yoga. Definitely worth staying here. I will come back here.

United KingdomMy favourite hostel ever! Beds are so comfy - even in shared rooms they’re bigger than single. It’s spotless. The pool area is beautiful and so chill. They have events on every night so it’s really easy to meet people if you’re a solo traveller. Lovely staff too. Highly recommend staying here!

New ZealandAir condition was super cold, I ask if I can get an extra blanket to don’t get sick and they say NO. So I asked if the air condition can be less cold the answer was I need to ask to the other people in the room. I tough that was a little bittersweet and everything was perfect but they don’t wanted to give me any solution about it. At the end in the last night I needed to beg to please get the air condition lower and they did. Hopefully next time they can have some spare blankets then will be 10/10 hostal
The staff is super nice, it’s the best value for money, I can’t believe they have free massage, yoga and breakfast included. The facilities are amazing and is super clean. Definitely I want to come back to ubud just for this place. It’s in a very good location, and is not a party hostel with drunk people but a social one that organize every day events for make friends.

AustraliaThis property is relatively new, all the amenities are modern and so lovely! The pool area is like a little oasis but the thing I loved the most is how lush the property is! So much greenery yet you’re right in the heart of one of Ubud’s busiest streets. Included in the stay is breakfast, you pick from a menu and they make it on demand so It’s fresh and custom made for you. There are HEAPS of activities, it’s very social but doesn’t give a wild vibe at all. 15 minute complimentary massages by the pool, morning yoga and family dinners. It’s just beautiful! The staff need a special shout out they’re so friendly, more than happy to help and always smiling! Also Dulcie who is volunteering from Wales was awesome at bringing everyone together for the social gatherings, she was a really great addition to help bridge the gap between all the travellers from different locations. Thanks everyone, one of my favourite stays 🙏🏼

Hostel Savanna Ubud is a hidden gem amidst the hustle and bustle of Ubud. The staff, especially David, made me feel incredibly welcome from the moment I arrived. The tranquil atmosphere provided a much-needed escape from the city's traffic, and the pool was a refreshing retreat. Free yoga classes, massages, and delicious breakfast added to the charm. Meeting wonderful people and enjoying spotless, cozy bedrooms made my stay unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking peace and relaxation in Ubud.

SpainBreakfast is good, but I would add more fruit to the pancakes :)
It was superb! They have designed the whole place in a really smart way, rooms are spacious, so even if you are staying with 3 people you don't feel you are in the way of each other. Everything is always clean, the shower / wc are separated and the basin in the middle of those 2, so everyone can use what they need when they need it. The beds are super comfy and you can have privacy by sliding your curtain :) there is also enough space to store your own things (locker/space for a bag/trolley). David and Iluh are the best, everyday asking you how you feel or making a joke, when staff engages with you, the whole experience enhances by far!

VietnamTo be honest, I thought the room design was a bit flat given the price. Flat grey walls, clean lines, few knick-knacks – yes, that's a certain design vibe with pedigree, but this isn't Basel, it's Ubud, and I thought it was slightly lazy and out of place. Loud music playing during one of our two nights until was not the fault of the property per se, but they could take steps to soundproof the rooms.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff as one expects in Ubud, good pool area, nice little cafe/breakfasting zone. The breakfast omelette was slightly better and larger than expected. Lots of twenty- and thirty-somethings around to socialize with, if you're looking to meet new people. Free morning yoga was a nice touch, although the pavilion was full when we arrived (on time!) so we had to forgo it – get there 5 minutes early!
