This place is just lovely! It is not far from the centre of Ubud but in a very quiet and charming neighbourhood. Already before arriving, the host was super friendly and helpful, arranging transport to different places and giving recommendations. The whole family is so sweet and I will highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an experience away from the tourist resorts.

The owners and their families are some of the most incredible people I have ever met, so hospitable and caring. I had a health scare during my stay and they took me to the doctors, checked on my condition and made sure I was comfortable upon my return to the hostel. Mosquitos at night are an issue if you are outside the room from time to time

The mattress is not the best or most comfortable

I have a lot to say about this place, the first thing is that a local family owns it and that is what I enjoyed the most because it is with the local people that you get to know the Balinese practices, rituals and ceremonies. Also being in a place where you can cook and with a forest next to it.

I stayed at Sila Urip Guest house for 22 days as i was taking a training not far away from the guest house. I really enjoyed the location as the room is facing the jungle and was really calm. The room was clean, i had hot shower almost everyday except for two days. The wifi was great. Above all, i can say Koman and Kadek were like family, i felt safe and supported. They were very reactive on the phone, always ready to help. Thank you to this lovely family to welcome me with so much warm and care.

The hosts are so sweet. I stayed at a private room; the garden is nice, the room is spacious and comfortable. The location was also good for me; both close to many touristic attractions but not directly inside all the hustle and noise.

Facilities were basic but it’s what you expect for such a cheap price, kitchen could be cleaner but I didn’t need to use it

I honestly had one of my best stays in Bali at Sila Urip! Komang and his family were so kind and welcoming, I really felt like part of the family. They even invited me to the big local ceremony and gave me traditional dress to wear. Although the facilities were basic, it was a great way to experience local culture. They are willing to help you with anything you need and the breakfast was delicious! It’s also a great location, down a nice quiet street but walking distance to the centre and very close to the Yoga Barn which was perfect for me :)

Be careful, the room doesn’t look like the way in the pictures. The room shown in the pictures is a private room. This real room is a 6-bed dormitory. It’s clean. It is cooled with air conditioner. Your bed is covered with a curtain so your privacy is ensured. Other roommates are friendly and keep quiet so you will not be interrupted. All you need are provided, such as free drinking water, kettle, pans, plates, cups, instant coffee, etc. The neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful. The yard has many greens. It is near to main road while it is also quite. The host family also live in this big house. You can see their family temple and join their festival celebrations.
