Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainEverything! it is a real jewel, we liked it so much we extended our stay an additional week. If you want to find a calm, local, authentic and yet with very high standards and luxury options this is the place in Bali. It is just stunning, the staff would go above and beyond and the food is delicious, vegetables are grown in the local farm. Plenty of options from hiking to scuba diving, it is real paradise

United KingdomIt’s VERY remote. So you’re basically stuck at the retreat unless you have a scooter or pay for a transfer. The food is expensive, although it’s great quality - there are no other cheaper options around. The staff, especially on reception, were generally quite rude which was unexpected as the staff in the restaurant were very helpful. The pools are amazing, but have very little seating, no cover and no amenities such as a bar etc… the retreat is designed for you to have your own villa with a pool, so if you can’t afford this then you have to use the communal pools which are great to look at, but impractical to sit around or lounge etc.
Amazing views! The food was absolutely delicious. Huge portion sizes too. Lovely clean Villa.

SwitzerlandAs it is a resort, it covers for every thing a little more, especially transportation and extras in the restaurant. You need a scooter to get outside of the resort. Construction work going on (as about everywhere throughout Bali).
Beautiful hill location. Calm and away from the tourist spots. Very nice facilities and comfortable bed. Clean. Recommended for people who like to relax in a quite zone, and do not need a village. Very lovely cleaning staff. I would definitely come back!

PolandWe spent a few days in the Camp Cabins which are a simple, minimalist form of accommodation. Located high on Sumberkima Hill provides an unique view of Pemuteran. The cottages are spacious, beds very comfortable, quality of materials used in the construction is solid. Newly built access road made our stay easy and pleasant. Staff always helpful. An additional advantage are wonderful swimming pools and delicious cuisine of Senja and Suma restaurants. Highly recommended place.

SwitzerlandOur experience was overall fantastic at Sumberkima Hills. I do have to point out that unfortunately, the quality of the walk-in yoga classes was disappointing. The teacher - a friendly and lovely person - does not have enough experience to guide the classes consisting mostly of beginners. The flow of the poses seems relatively random, there is no build-up to difficult poses such as the dove or camel pose (that should not be proposed to beginners in the first place) which could potentially leave some people with injuries. The flow stops abruptly sometimes because the teacher massages everyone in child's pose. She talks through the entire shawasana, not giving participants the head space to actually relax and/or meditate. I am sure this will improve with more training and experience, but I had expected more from a resort that focuses on a wholesome experience and even offers yoga retreats.
I loved the concept of grouping many individual villas with different styles and comforts into an eco-style hotel compound with the character of a Balinese village. The resort is well-integrated into the landscape and surrounding nature. We lived in Villa Guus which is perfect for a couples getaway and has a stunning view of the bay from Pemuteran to the national park and Menjangan Island. The food was excellent, both the breakfast in the Suma restaurant and the dinners at the Senja restaurant (the best meals we've ever eaten in Bali). If you are looking for manicured lawns, water fountains with rose petals and staying all day long at the poolside, this is not the place for you. If you want a wholesome experience, architecture where nature meets concrete, a modern approach to resort living and genuinely friendly staff, come to Sumberkima Hills!
