Arrived at 2.15 pm just to find our room was not ready until 3 pm. The receptionist was not even cordial enough to say sorry about the mishaps. The room was dirty with filthy spots both on the duvet and sofa. Some specks of dirt are found on a few corners.

Breakfast was plentiful of options. The taste was good. Nice lounge on the rooftop with plenty of selection of alcoholic beverages and bar food.

Shower water pressure low.. no mirror for dressing table:.. facilities like iron and dont have iron board untill request again after got iron.. but staff told iron board “sick”.. but breakfast just stunning.. unfortunately will try other hotel with such price and fulfil my expectations.. thanks

The hotel has smoking and non-smoking rooms (didn´t even cross my mind that still works somewhere, my fault) and if you are unlucky like me - get a smoker room and are strict non-smoker...well, you won´t be really happy. There was no other room available and had to "survive" it overnight. Also, the rooms next to the lift are really noisy.

Nice hotel near the sea in Makassar. Big comfy rooms, very nice pool with sea view, fantastic breakfast. Close to everywhere (if this is relevant in Makassar). If you get a non-smoking room, I would recommend and come again.

It took 10 minutes to check-in, the guy seemed to be constantly reviewing the system. In the end, we did not get one of the rooms we had reserved and our two rooms were on different floors (not such an issue). We ate dinner at the restaurant and they served each meal separately. By the time the last meal arrived, my husband had finished his! Surely a professional restaurant should be able to manage this better. Also, definitely not the place to order a steak - the "medium/rare" steak was tough! One of our rooms was missing towels and soap. It took several calls/discussions before the towels finally showed up (the soap never did show up, our daughters used the shower gel).

Location was excellent. Breakfast buffet extensive and good. Price is very reasonable. Our rooms had a beautiful view of the bay area.

I made a booking of a room with double bed, non smoking room. It was confirmed by the property. However, I was later informed by the receptionist during the check in process that all rooms with that criteria were already full-booked (!!??). Then, I was kind of 'forced' by him to take the twin bed arrangement if I still want to stay in a non-smoking room. It was definitely not a convenient welcome. The breakfast situation was also a mess. The space was limited. The service was understaffed.

The hotel is in a strategic location - near several tourist attractions, decent coffee shops and good eateries.

There was stench of cigarette everywhere. We requested non smoking rooms but they gave us smoker rooms. There was a band playing until 2am which made ir very hard to sleep.

some stains on the bed sheets, dust all over the corners of the room, the shower blind is outside the bathroom was bit uncomfortable for me because I stay with friend. Weekend stay will be very busy as well as the lift.

Our room was located near the elevator and its sounds were quite disturbing throughout the night. likewise a party (probably in the bar) and loud guests made it impossible to sleep till early morning.

The Swiss-Belhotel in Makassar is perfectly located and the rooftop bar provides a view over the harbor and city. The staff are very kind and polite and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

Roomservice menu was very limited, with the food expensive and bad quality. With the crowd during Idul Fitri holidays the management failed to regulate.the elevator traffic: overfull and 20 minute waiting times. Stairwells and emergency exits were locked. A disaster waiting to happen.

Nothing to complain, Note that the staff we talked to only spoke very little english, however we were always able to communicate what we wanted.

Hotel is in good shape, staff was very nice and helpful. Room and rooftop bar is nice, life concerts everywhere (plese note that it is a smoking bar in case you do not like that). We only spent 1 day in Malassae so I can not really judge if loocation with regards to important places of the city is. There are boat transfers to the island close to the hotel. We did not see any close restaurants when we were out walking on the street. The hotel has a loundry service, not very cheap but all was done very well and wirhin 6 hours.

CLEANLINESS of the room: need to work on this. Ants were found along the tv and coffee table, accumulated dust on bed head and floor corners, greyish pillowcasing and dampness smell of greyish towels, and dried spots of foodstain in fridge. Pillows are too hard to sleep on that my neck hurt. Sofa needs replacement as the sponge inside worn out with spots on the fabric. ROOM SERVICE: Excellent service. Replacement of fresh white towels and thorough cleaning of the room was carried out immediately upon complaints. I appreciate the fast act.

LOCATION is very strategic. Nearby convenient stores; cafe Dapoer Sulawesi with reknown Nasi Kuning, morning Porridge and other snacks; Ati Raja, Ayam Goreng Sulawesi, Starbucks and etc. The spactecular beautiful sea view in the morning and sunset. Got good morning walk along the coastal areas. ROOM SERVICE: excellent service. Replacement of fresh white towels and thorough cleaning of the room was carried out immediately upon complaints. I appreciate the fast act. Suitable for family and business stay. Will comeback again and hope the hotel has improved the linen quality.

The smell in our room was not nice and it was pretty noisy (we heard our neighbord vibrating alarm + someone screeming in the middle of the night). The pool is full of kids and all lifts get completely wet (slippery!), the hotel should tell people to dry before heading to their rooms. Also, they should put a towel rack in the room. We had nowhere to put them!

We enjoyed the sea view room and the big breakfast buffet. We could spot the famous mosque from our room! There are eateries and more international food options around the hotel.

The room was great with view out to the ocean. Fort Rotterdam is situated opposite the hotel, so easy to walk to. Staff were all very friendly. But I did not want to join the buffet for dinner (80% desserts which I don't eat), so I ordered a Mie Goreng, the only dish I had throughout my 4 weeks in Indonesia which was very overspiced and a complete waste of money.
