Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsBreakfast is included, but not so nice.. They ask you a day before what you want for breakfast with a document. I didn't like that, because I don't know how hungry I might be the next morning.

NorwayThe Villa is placed in the wonderful street in Sidemen area, rice fields, quiet, but still plenty of places to go eat (from cheap great warung to fine dining) in walking distance. This area is great if you want to relax. Uma Agung has a reasonable price, good value for money! Take a day trip (ask at the reception for help or use tripadvisor) and come to this nice place in the afternoon to rest in their beautiful garden by the pool.

United KingdomWe had to move rooms after our first night as there was such a bad smell in ours. It was like a mix of damp and strong urine. The staff were great and did offer to move us rooms straight away which we did. Whilst the second room was better smell wise, there was still a bad stench in the bathroom, and the room felt damp. The breakfast was also poor quality and I only ate the toast in the end and we went out for breakfast every other morning following. Not sure what is going wrong with the plumbing/smells but does need to be fixed.
The staff were friendly and the location was nice.

United KingdomThere was no air con so didn’t get much sleep so bare in mind if booking. There was a smell of damp in the bedroom and bathroom so this made it a bit off putting when trying to sleep alongside the heat. Would also recommend getting a scooter. It offered a very cultural experience in a very quiet area. No cushions on the sun loungers which would make it more comfortable. Breakfast was ok.
Nice surrounding views, nice restaurants surrounding, nice locals. The room was very spacious and cleaned. Pool big.

United KingdomIt could do with a deep clean and the bathroom is open so when wet outside, everything in there gets damp I.e. towels. The prices for transfers charged by the hotel are exorbitant, if you go on a walk for 10min towards Sidemen village, you can find transfers at almost half the price. I wouldn’t recommend the spa. I initially booked for a beauty treatment involving a body scrub, body mask and Balinese massage. The spa is essentially a hut next to the pool which is not a issue however I was told that after the scrub, I needed to put on a sarong and go to my room to shower and return to continue the treatment - I personally didn’t feel comfortable doing this since the sarong was see through and meant parading myself naked on my way to the room. I managed to change it only to Balinese massage which was pleasant but the towels smelt damp and I must say I wasn’t sure if they were changed from the previous customer. In the room that I stayed, the safe was not bolted, it just had double sided tape to the back of it so not secure at all. If you want anything from reception, they advise you to message on WhatsApp but they don’t always acknowledge your messages or they take a while to respond.
The location is good, you have the rice fields near by and on a clear day, you can see Mount Agung. Unfortunately, during my stay there was torrential rain so not much of a view but still very pleasant to be in nature. There are a few good places to eat near by and also couple of nice resorts where you can eat and use the pool for a change of scenery. It’s about 20min walk from Sidemen village centre.

NetherlandsThe photos of the room look way better than the room we got in the end! Additionally, during our stay there was a construction site on the property which was very loud and destroyed the tranquil scenery. The noise would wake us up in the morning and didn’t really made us feel like relaxing at the pool. The staff said the noise would stop, but it just didn’t. They didn’t offer any compensation, which we felt was adequate. The restaurant food is very basic. All restaurants around serve better food.
The location is great. The view onto the rice fields is beautiful.

United KingdomThe food was overpriced and salty. On my second day a large noisy tour group arrived, which ruined the relaxed atmosphere.

ThailandThe first room they gave me was quite dirty and very hot (no A/C) so they upgraded me to the family room, which was also quite dirty but less hot. The mosquito net is so old and dirty and filled with dead bugs that they kept falling on the bed. I had to wash my hands after touching the net because it's so dirty. Old bedding, old towels, dirty old fan. Breakfast was passable. I left after one night even though I intended to stay longer. A few of the rooms with a view seemed nice from the outside so maybe it's a case of getting the right room at this place. But they still need to up their cleaning game.
