How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The hotel was so comfortable & clean and the owner was so helpful and friendly! Overall it was great value for money and I’d definitely stay there again!

The WiFi didn't work on my laptop which was disappointing and the shower was very slippery..... Nothing else comes to mind
Super nice owners, great atmosphere and a great location. Very quiet and still close to everything in seminyak. It's a beautiful hotel and I found it super comfortable and best of all, very very clean. Almost perfect.

They tried charging me upfront even though I had already prepaid (could’ve been a simple mistake and they quickly realized they were in the wrong, but still felt weird) Also had to ask for my daily water bottles, again weird

Not really a great location. Quite a distance from the beach and any decent nightlife. The room was functional and clean, but somewhat tired.
The air-conditioner worked and there was hot water in the shower.

Some facilities were a bit tired, but nothing I couldn't cope with. It still seemed clean, I stayed for 4 nights & didn't have any issues. It was as expected as I read through reviews so can't complain
The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The pool area was also beautiful, in a really great location too. Close by to busy areas but set back off a street so quiet. The beds I also found very comfy

The bathroom could get some maintenance. Cleaning was not the greatest. We found the biggest spider we have ever seen in the room (but the team took care of it when we called them). There were no scooters to rent.
The room was ok in space, quiet and the wifi was not strong but at least it was steady. The team that took care of the cleaning of the rooms were very polite and professional. We were allowed to check in a bit before the time, which was appreciated.

At night the road towards the hotel is dark and shady and it's very risky because it's far away from the main road .

Looks nothing like the pictures! They’ve made the colours ‘pop’ in the photos. The bathroom mirror and shower weren’t clean. The bathroom floor where the metal bin sits was rusty. There was a pube on the toilet seat. Stains on bedding and walls. Windowsill was grimey. Found a few flying and crawling bugs in the room. Only 2 lights in the bedroom and they were quite dim so poorly lit. It’s definitely not as elegant, pristine, clean and glamorous as it looks online. That reception desk from the online images is not here. There’s renovations going on which should have been specified online because that would affect choosing the hotel. The drilling/hammering/construction work noise started at 10:30am. There’s rubble and knocked down walls etc. I only stayed for 1 night instead of my 2 that were planned. I’d never stay again.
The owner was nice. Airport transfer taxi driver was friendly. There was a TV in the bedroom but I didn’t use it. The shower was hot, wifi is good, pillows were fine. Aircon wasn’t too noisy. And the bed had a duvet, not a thin sheet.
