Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOnly bummer was the nearby nightclub playing heavy bass until 4am every night. The hotel provided earplugs, which did help but I still couldn't sleep super well.
So much to love: it's very peaceful, all the details are considered, beautiful property, great spa, food is delicious.

IndiaI'd say more food and bar options but I guess that's not the focus of the property. It's truly trying to emphasize down time and detoxing
Location can't be better, the cleanliness was absolutely on point and the staff went above and beyond for everything. The hotel has just 10 rooms so by the end of the stay the staff knows all your individual preferences :). The food options are limited but all excellent. Note it is a vegan and pescatarian property.

United KingdomThere is nothing not to like about the Asa Maia!
Beautiful property in a great location, close to the beaches, great restaurants and bars. Excellent rooms and facilities. Brilliant food options. Great attention to detail. The people who work here make this place very special, from the very helpful front of house team (special thanks to Indra who went an extra mile), to the great bar and restaurant staff, to fantastic yoga and fitness instructors.

Incredible property offering too class facilities and service. The breakfast choice was extensive, I struggled to choose each day because everything was so good. Amazing facilities; including yoga classes, beautiful pool and gym, sauna and both got and cold plunge pools. Out of this world bedding.

PeruThe Asa Maia is a marvelous boutique hotel, with flawless attention to detail and a friendly staff who will always remember your name. Breakfast is absolutely delicious- the cocoa bowl is a must. Bedrooms are beautiful and spacious, modern, and yet respectful of Bali essence with wonderful private exterior showers and welcome gifts. Every common area is very special and thought-through: pool, sun tanning area, spa, bar… even a beautiful shala with yoga classes every day. Definitely a hotel to go back to. And if you’re lucky, you get to meet Cosmos, an adorable dog- be sure to give him a treat to win his heart!

United StatesSome ambient noise at night from surrounding villas, but nothing the provided earplugs didn’t take care of. Really a non-issue considering the comfortable and traditional Balinese construction of the stand-alone suites.
Asa Maia was just the best, wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was fantastic (and the coffee, whoa…). Fresh, locally spiced, and delicious! The perfect start to morning before going adventuring. Hotel arranged a motorbike rental for us which was a breeze. The staff were all amazing and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was fabulous (thanks to Sandy especially!). Included Yoga was nice and the instructors were experienced and skilled. Cold/Hot plunge pools were the highlight of our stay, and the grounds were immaculately maintained. Modern yet traditional blended perfectly.

AustraliaI wanted to buy their espresso cups but they didn't have any left :(
Everything about our suite was spot on, everything in the suite was well thought out and very high quality. The pool was fantastic and often very quiet as only 10 rooms at the hotel. The breakfast was delicious and everything is cooked to order. The staff were all amazing, happy and helpful. The buggy drop off & pickup service is incredibly helpful as the hotel is down a dirt road that's not well lit at night.

United StatesI had an absolutely fantastic stay at Asa Maia! The rooms were incredibly comfortable, and the beds were a dream to sleep on. The pool and amenities were a highlight of my visit, especially the hot and cold plunge pools that provided a refreshing and invigorating experience. One of the unique aspects of this hotel that stood out to me was the inclusion of breathwork and yoga sessions in the morning. It was a wonderful way to start the day feeling relaxed and centered. The staff at the hotel were not only helpful but also extremely attentive and genuinely nice. Their warm hospitality made my stay even more enjoyable. As a conscious eater, I was delighted by the tasty and healthy food options available, with plenty of vegan and gluten-free choices on the menu. Starting each day with fresh green juices was a refreshing treat. What makes this hotel even more special is its commitment to sustainability. The use of recycled materials in its construction aligns with my values, and it's intriguing to see a hotel that cares about the environment. Overall, my experience at this hotel was exceptional. I left feeling rejuvenated, well taken care of, and inspired by its eco-friendly approach. I can't wait to return for another stay!

United KingdomAn exceptional hotel, a beautifully designed complex with great wellness facilities. Clean spacious room, nice pool area and great food. Staff were very attentive, helpful, and extremely friendly - they made us feel very welcome, thank you! The hotel was hidden from the main street, but easy walking distance to restaurants and beaches. Overall, this hotel is amazing place to stay and relax, we would gladly come back again!

IndonesiaThey provide Persian towels in the bathroom, and they were thin and not very comfortable to use. The tissue boxes are smelly and the toothpaste taste like charcoal (and it tastes weird). The price is a bit high for these facilities and amenities.
The hotel provides so many healing activities that give us new experience. We joined contrast therapy and hypnosis. The therapists are very friendly and helpful. We also love the quiteness, there were only a few rooms and there were not so many guest. The design of the hotel is also very raw, natural, and reflects the cultural history of Bali. We love the uluwatu area as well, it was not to crowded but very close to the beach and many restaurants and retails around.

AustraliaA neighouring bar can be heard playing live reggae 7pm-11am, followed by house music (doof doof) until 4am from the rooms, and in the restaurant. We were able to move rooms - this improved the sound but we still needed earplugs. It's such a contrast to the day time vibe & the effort that's gone into making the hotel private & peaceful.
Stunning, serene property surrounded by greenery with outstanding service & thoughtful finishing touches. The food is excellent & beautifully presented - mostly vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian. Loved the yoga shala, comfortable day beds & the peacefulness. Uluwatu restaurants & bars / beach club like Single Fin are within walking distance. We considered staying longer despite the price (it was AU$800 / night during July),

United StatesThe Asa Maia was the best party of our two week trip. So good that we extended a few extra days. The small boutique hotel felt like your own private sanctuary. The design and layout was breathtaking, it felt like you were in a historic Indonesian compound. The sauna, cold, and hot caves were an amazing addition and we used them every day after we did daily yoga. The food was top notch and most importantly the staff was the friendliest we’ve encountered in Bali. This place is a hidden gem. Some people will say the bedrooms are dark which is true but we didn’t mind as we are outside all day. Besides being dark the rooms were magnificent with beautiful designed bathroom, bedding and intimate lighting, dimmers on everything. The added free coffee, tea, snacks and water was perfect. They hit it out of the park. We will be back guaranteed.

United Arab EmiratesThe only fault for me were the sheets. We found the linen sheets too heavy making us feel too hot.
The property is very well located, far enough from the main road to feel secluded but close enough that you can easily walk to near by restaurants. The main building is beautiful with a spacious yoga studio, spa rooms and a small salon, a great restaurant with vegetarian and pescatarian options in a very well structured common area that is both protected from the elements but invites the outside in. The pool flows organically with the villas surrounding it. I also have to mention the infrared sauna and the cold and hot plunge pools, which you cannot miss. The staff is fantastic and you really feel looked after. There is a schedule of activities every day from yoga classes, to movement, hypnosis, contrast therapy. You will not want to miss the daily contrast therapy with Sy or booking a private breath work session or the demanding but spectacular movement class with Daniela. I must also mention Axel that manages the Asa Maia who engages with every guest to make everyone feel welcome along with Cosmo (the cute Dalmatian) and also Maria that made the best latte’s to the most ridiculous specifications from me. The common areas are very inviting and the atmosphere makes it easier to interact with other guests enriching the experience. I spent hours reading in the sofas by the pool. The rooms feel like private cosy cabins in the jungle, many people mention they are dark, I believe they fit the space and concept perfectly. The whole space has character. The food is great particularly the breakfast. We absolutely loved staying here and would recommend this place to everyone.
