Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United Arab Emiratesthe Visa card machine got stuck for one hour upon arrival, they don’t have contact-less, and they are not very cooperative I asked them to give me the room until their machine work as the problem was from their side and not mine, they told me to go withdraw money which I cannot when in a foreign country as the bank charges are extremely high! i had to wait in the lobby till it got sorted out another day i got locked out of my own villa! someone from housekeeping I guess locked it with a padlock and the key i have was not opening it, even the staff couldn’t get it opened, I literally stayed locked out for more than 20 mins

Hong KongIt was bad and unpleasant. Looking at the other reviews I see many similar experiences in this villa, some going back several years. The owner responds each time saying it’s been fixed, but in the villa we stayed, none have been addressed… These false claims by this villa are unattractive. Here is what the experience was like in a single villa here (I don’t know what the others were like). There are some similar complaints to previous reviews. 1. The paint is pealing off the walls everywhere. 2. The power outlets are very inconvenient, there is no place to charge a phone or laptop. 3. The kitchen dishwashing liquid had brown bits and yellow tint - it looked mouldy. 4. The swimming pool had lots of white bits (not sure what) floating in the surface, and harder white pellets in the bottom. It felt unhealthy, are they insect/rodent poisson pellets? 5. The bathtub had insects in it. 6. The shower was absolutely disgusting, mould growing everywhere, paint peeling off, even the soaps smelt bad. 7. The lock to our villa is an archaic padlock with a key that didn’t work. 8. The tiles across the indoor and outdoor parts of the villa are collapsing and broken into pieces. 9. The roof had also become a habitat for an animal, it left crumbs/dust piles in the morning over the coffee table. 10. Table surfaces in the entire villa had coaster stains, wipes etc all over them. It didn’t look clean. 11. The toilet door would not open fully. And it smelt of mould. 12. Insects everywhere in the room. 13. The bedsheets did not look clean, bits of something (crumbs?) all over. And itchy. Which made us question if there were bedbugs. 14. The plants didn’t look cared for. Overall the whole place looks abandoned, outdated, unclean and uncared for. The place made you feel depressed. It’s a shame because it could have potential. But this is not worthy of the price at this current moment. I hope they decide to do something about it and good luck in future!

AustraliaAfter arriving late at night from Sydney they were not ready for us, in fact the security guard and the other gentleman behind the counter had no idea we were coming. We had to show them the booking and they made some calls and then they still had to go check the room to make sure it was ready. We also payed for breakfast in but they did not have breakfast at the villa and we were told if we wanted breakfast that they would order it for us from elsewhere. So we did, but only one time as it came cold and not very good. So some wasted money there.
