Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSome of the facilities could do with a light touch up from wear and tear, but nothing major.
The kids zone here is incredible. Our daughter is 18 months and loved it. We also all enjoyed the water aerobics. They really look after you here and are very good with children. We also enjoyed sitting in the lobby and relaxing in the evening.

New ZealandUnfortunately the bath water pressure was very slow and not very warm so the kids couldn’t make use of the big beautiful bath tub. Also the kitchen which the staff encouraged you to use however you like, was not equiped with any cooking utensils or even cutlery whatsoever. Making it impossible to prepare or cook food. Also the sink had no dishwashing liquid or sponge. I did phone to ask for this to wash our babies bottles etc and they did provide it right away.
We loved the Sakala location in Nusa Dua it is much quieter than some other parts of Bali and has a lovely little piece of beach opposite the resort at the beach club where you can swim or have dinner. We booked the BBQ on the Saturday night which was absolutely delicious!! The villa was stunning and very spacious. Half the villa is actually the bathroom/ toilet/ huge wardrobe space which at first I thought unnecessary but then realised it was quite nice to store your suitcases here instead of on the floor around the villa. TV for kids with YouTube, and very comfortable beds. I’d like to make mention of a couple of staff members who were amazing with us and our kids. Demmy, and also Evan, and Agung.

New ZealandWe were given an interconnecting room (so naturally as there was a door not a wall we could hear everyyyy thing) with a very noisy family - disappointing in an almost empty resort. The “beach club” was not as nice as the photos, the beach was dirty and not that nice.
Beautiful rooms and pool, we had a pool access room and I highly recommend. We would stay again but would request a non interconnecting room

We booked the villa, and it was so great, to have the entire property for ourselves. You can have a lot of privacy to use the pool, and all the room. You could cook there, but we didn't, we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant

Australiathe hotel is a bit rundown it's not dirty but it doesn't look clean, the location and activities near by not great, you cant walk anywhere. the food menu is the same across different location but there is no consistency on the end product
The best thing Sakala has to offer is their staff, from the receptionist to the entertainment manager like Demy, the chef Comi and the Pool bar Suria;, to mention a few, the level of attention to detail and service beyond expectation. Always with a smile and great 6-star service

CanadaVery dusty walls in the room. Sometimes I was waiting for the room service around 2 hours and had to call 3 times. The restaurant in the hotel is extremely overpriced and the food isn't delicious, super dry and oily. Not so many of options.
Great swimming pool area with the nice view. Spacey rooms, big comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast. Free transfer to the beach and shopping mall.

Good location, nice beach club and clean beach. Great nachos. We had an issues with the bed in the room, but the guest experience manager Demmy, fixed it for us immediately to ensure we had a nice stay. The breakfast buffet was the best we had in the 7 hotels we stayed in in Bali.

AustraliaService was excellent, everyone was very accommodating and helpful. We had our 1 year old son with us and the kitchen would make special dishes for him, which was very kind. The room was very large and comfortable, enough to fit us all and allow our son to crawl/ play. Best part would be the pool, perfect temperature every time and very large. Great recommendation for those with young families.
