How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Farm Hostel was an absolute delight! The volunteers, Patrick, Mouse, James, and Chlora, were outstanding. Their warmth and hospitality truly made the experience memorable. The property had excellent party vibes and an incredibly chic atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fantastic hostel experience!

Staff were not very friendly or approachable.
Clean spacious rooms, good activities in the evenings very social and easy to meet people. Location was also good, 5 min grab away from all the bars and restaurants

The one thing we were unsure on was the outdoor shower and toilet. Some of the rooms at the hostel have an outside bathroom but are undercover ours was completely open so when it rained this was a bit of an issue. However there are toilets and showers that are covered around the pool.
This was our first hostel that we have stayed at in Bali and we were pleasantly surprised. It’s a very social hostel with an activity on every night which we enjoyed taking part in. A massive highlight for us was Gaby. She is one of the nicest hotel staff we have ever come across. She always made sure we were happy and she even looked after our friend when she wasn’t feeling well. She makes a conscious effort to help everyone socialise which made us feel very welcome.

Everything about this hostel was lovely. The staff were great and always able to help if needed. You have the option to change your bed daily!!! The social areas are nice and perfect for chilling or co-working.

The bedroom was pretty small, and it wasn’t really neat. For example, there was lot of dirt between the bed and the wall, from the low bed, you can clearly see it all and it is disgusting. There was also a bogey on the wall just above my pillow, sickening.
Very well located, good fun and nice people ! They provide events every night, you will definitely meet new people !

Rules were absurd sometimes, cannot use the pool after 10pm, cannot even sit near it even if you are quiet. Staff can be pretty abrupt and for some reason you cannot bring food to the hostel.
Facilities were great, very tidy and pretty, room was clean. Located in the center and also guarded 24/7.

Lockers hard to keep backpacks in especially top bunk, not really practical. My locker in room B number 8 had a sticky mess in which was difficult to see before putting my bags in. Plug sockets temperamental Very cliquey
Nice clean bathroom with good shower and facility. Beds were comfy and big and privacy curtains nice touch, with own individual light, plug and storage area. Social place with lots going on. Staff could not do more for you and very helpful, cleaners always cleaning and lovely place to be. Cashless so you wore a band and just topped this up at reception which was good in some ways but bad in others as difficult to gauge currency. Close to lots of shops and beach a short walk away. Food good in the kitchen, plenty of options and reasonably priced.

The rooms could be cleaner and neater. Some visitors hoard the toilet space, left their things lying all around the room and even brought it some weird smell.
I liked that the property has a proper kitchen, menu and served drinks. They have a swimming pool, lounge area and sunbathing beanbags.

The fact that there was only one shower and toilet for the whole room. The mirror behind the door was annoying because you would almost get knocked out when putting on makeup
Loved the pool area, really liked the bar and the fact that you had evenings out organised every night. The reps were great at getting the social activities under way and making people feel comfortable. It was a great hostel for a solo traveller, such a great social vibe.

Staff very friendly and there was always someone cleaning the rooms and bathrooms. Very social bar and pool area with happy hour twice a day. Beds were comfortable and had a shelf, plug socket, light and curtains. Walking distance to all bars and restaurants.

Some of the other volunteers were very cliquey and barely spoke to me, I was there for a week.
Very clean, lovely area with shops nearby, the food and drink was also really nice! Paige made me feel so welcome. She was so easy to chat too and she brought a lot of us together, which was lovely, especially being a solo traveller.

Had the best time at the Farm hostel!! Every night there was an activity, which was so much fun! I kept extending my stay :) Ray and Gabby are the best, thank you for making my stay even better! Going back someday hopefully!
