Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PakistanFrom the location to the town, to the hot spring, to it's management and the services they arranged for us during the stay everything was spot on. Just note nearby resturants close by 9ish, some by 10ish, so must be prepared. The owner was super sweet, he dropped us back to Ubud, because all taxis were unavailable due to the local festival. We loved his recommendations on the nearby temples and the route taken. He also arranged a lava site jeep adventure for us with a beautiful sunrise experience. He also took us to a coffee plantation nearby. We loved the vibe of this place, such a relaxing getaway.

United StatesOnly complaint is more for the general area; the black flies are INTENSE. It’s a constant SWARM of them, not sure of that can be mitigated at all.
Spectacular new property in the Mt. Batur area. It was spotlessly clean, and the layout was very comfortable. The onsite geothermal powered hot tub was a particularly nice feature. Spent a lot of time in it! The property manager was very communicative, and helpful in arranging excursions and rides. Would absolutely stay again!

SingaporeThere is no food within the hotel.
There is a lot of privacy with the hot spring within the premises. The view is also great overlooking the the lake and Mt Batur. I would rather use the hot spring facilities of the hotel than to use the public hot spring which lacks privacy but offers a great view.

United StatesThe only negative was some construction noise when we were in the pool one day but I think they would have stopped had we asked. They even checked with us on noice the next day after our hike, knowing that we may want to take a nap.
This villa is in the most perfect location to take the sunrise hike up Mount Batur. You walk from the front door to the hiking trail and the owner will help organize your tour. It has an amazing hot spring pool to chill in. The room was very comfortable with a nice bed and pillows, plus the air conditioner worked very really well. The owner also helped transport us to the floating restaurant for a meal and provided information and transportation / transfers to Uluwatu during our stay. He gave us his WhatsApp and was available to answer any of our questions. He was super responsive and helpful. He even brought back Dramamine from Ubud when he knew we needed it from a pharmacy for the drive back OK out of town.

United KingdomCould have been a bit cleaner, there was a hair in the fridge, and the stains on the towels, otherwise very clean. Location is very remote, no decent restaurants within 10/15 minutes. But there is a handy shop across the road. Turning off the road can be hard to find too.
Bed was very comfortable. The hot spring pool was very private and had a great view. Bathroom was nice and spacious. Good powerful shower, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We would be happy to stay again.

AustraliaThe hot spring pool was fantastic, with a really special view, and the room was really great, bigger than I expected. Eddie the host is lovely and very helpful, we really enjoyed our stay. Kintamani is a cool town, it was like being Jeff Goldblum in a famous David Cronenberg movie, but very happy and enjoyable and fun. The black lava is amazing to check out. Very worthy destination, and a wonderful place to stay!

United KingdomThere are steep steps and the drop from the step into the pool is quite steep so it would not suit people with mobility problems
It was lovely to escape the bustle of Abud and to be in a beautiful and quiet location. The garden that our room faced was beautiful and the hot affinity pool was amazing with views of the lake. We had delicious, freshly prepared Nadi Gorang and pineapple for breakfast at a small extra cost.

In house Hot spring - what a treat to be able to enjoy hot spring inside the complex with beautiful view, especially at night time under the stars! Owner - Edi is so helpful on everything. Helped us arrange a good sun rise jeep trip and offer blanket as we did not bring warm clothe. Huge bed - felt like king size!? very comfortable Location - easy walk around to the convenient store. Edi recommended a local restaurant and we tried its yummy grilled fish and fish soup! We truly enjoyed our one night stay for the next day early morning Volcano tour (good to stay close as we were picked up at 5 not 3 or 4 if stay far away)
