Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was quite far from anything else, which I didn’t realise until I got there. Which means it’s quite expensive to travel via taxi (car or scooter) if like me, you don’t have your own. BUT it’s the PERFECT place to chill by the pool for a few dahs and recoup. 😊
I loved my stay here, the staff were so welcoming, friendly and fun. The grounds and rooms were clean and well kept. Food was great, overall vibes were chilled but fun too.

AustraliaThese are just suggestions not negatives. Some chairs on the verandah of the dorms would be great for guests wanting to sit outside but not be by the pool. Also some basic tea and coffee making facilities would be a nice little touch - I was up early for a sunrise tour and I would have loved to have been able to have a coffee before I went.
Awesome vibe, very pretty. Secluded in the hills of Nusa Penida. About a 15min car ride from Toyapakeh Harbour. Social setting, lots of social activities and recommendations for day trips. Transport around the island is a bit harder than mainland Bali but The Project has a WhatsApp group you can join on arrival that will help with all your transport needs. The beds were very comfy, clean facilities and YUMMY coffee. Highly recommend 🙏🏼

Book this place now TRUST ME it will not disappoint ! I was told that penida project was THE place to be in Nusa Penida and that couldn’t of been more accurate. It has the perfectly balanced vibe, with a mix of chill nights and lively nights planned out throughout the week. The food is amazing, the people are amazing, the owners are ABSOLUTE gems.❤️ I made such good memories with the people I met there, honestly the highlight of my trip. Best vibes love you guys

United KingdomJust be aware that you’ll need a scooter to get around, taxis can be expensive. But a lot of people you meet here will happily give you a lift and it’s easy to get taxis from the hostel too.
Loved the property and the staff! So helpful and friendly, the vibe is great and you have everything you need including lots of delicious food. I had such a good time I ended up staying for 3 extra days. Also the resident doggos are so lovely and cute.

Everything! The stuff, the place, the food, the facilities, the people who stayed there and most of all THE VIBE. Also, need to mention the 4weeks puppy Luna who was cherry on the top. 🥳 I liked Nusa Penida, but Penida Project was the primary reason I liked it so much.

AustraliaBathroom a little away from the room..helpful if a mirror was in the room.
The hotel is in a lovely secluded location, 8 minutes from the main road. The road in part to the hostel is very rough, however the hostel is aiming to improve its condition..The dorm beds are very comfortable with curtains for privacy. Very clean facilities. Pool is wonderful. The staff friendly and helpful. Kitchen produces healthy meals at a reasonable cost. Bathroom clean with good water pressure in shower hot and cold.

PortugalIt would be nice if they had breakfast included to the price, even if this would mean a higher rate.
Everything was absolutely perfect! One of the nicest hostels I have ever been to! Super nice oasis in the middle of the forest (even if you initially have the impression it's "far" away, you're only 7 mins away from the main road by bike - probably even less once the road has been completely asphalted). Very clean and modern facilities and a huge swimming pool! I wish I could have stayed even longer there.

GermanyThe Location isn't the best and you should feel comfortable riding a scooter on a gravel road. If you don't ride a scooter you'll have to eat at the Hostel as their is nothing else close by.
Very comfortable beds with privacy, very clean bathrooms. Beautiful outdoor area around the pool and great food. Easy scooter Rental, the stuff is really friendly and always there to help you.
