How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Lighting in the room could have been better. The tables in the open area were also not that clean.
The beds were comfortable. There is fun bar hopping. Also, we socialised with people there who were quite chill. The swimming pool is a small but fun addition. You can chill and relax there. The rooms were quite. Location is good you can get everything nearby.

Tipsy Gypsy is the best hostel I have ever have to pleasure of visiting. The staff are amazing, helpful and friendly. Saki, Sena and Yudi and owner Steph all made me feel like I was in my second home. I came for 3 day and stayed for 6 weeks. What a place. I cannot wait to return

- it’s not new anymore but it’s a hostel and cheap
Best staff ever! It’s a party hostel and that’s what you get and what you should expect. Sometimes loud but quiet after 11 pm, so I could sleep enough. The people and the vibes are unbeatable :) Definitely will be back

This place is a party family, I got a Tipsy Gypsy tattoo after 2 days stay. Saki, Yudi, Sena, and Yayan are the best staff in the world and Steph the owner will make you feel more welcome than you would get at home. Stay at this hostel you wil not regret it, if you get to leave, it will be an achievement.

It is definitely a social and party place , which I was looking for as I am traveling alone. Didn’t have to stay alone at all, they welcomed me at the check in and I was right away involved. Awesome !

The atmosphere here is the best. So social, and instantly found people to talk to. The hostel is also really well located and clean. The guys working here are the best! Thanks for a great couple of nights.

Nothing, slightly hard to find I guess but there is a small sign at the start of the side street
Staff are so nice and friendly, inviting me over to have a drink with an already established group (when I’m a solo traveller and a bit shy at first) was really appreciated. Curtains on beds, lockers under the bunk beds and lots of socialising possible. Location is okay, about a 10/15 min walk to the beach but very close to all the insta food places & bars if that’s your thing. Obviously it gets loud as a party hostel but music off at 11 and everyone goes out so can still sleep

My mattress was a bit crooked, which is not perfect for a side sleeper like me. I flipped it and then it was ok-ish.
The hostel staff is super friendly and welcoming. They create a very nice atmosphere were you will feel at home right away. A very safe hostel, for you and your belongings. When I lost my wallet they returned it safely to me. The hostel is located in the city centre, nearby nice restaurants and bars. However you do not hear the traffic noise. Its a very social (party) hostel, but the music gets turned off by 11 pm so those who want to sleep early can. The bathroom was clean with great cold and warm shower. The pool was nice and clean as well.

Shower and toilet in the same room.
The great atmosphere that's hanging around the hostel. Always something happening at the hostel. In the morning or afternoon plenty of card games to play and hanging around the pool.
