Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWished for longer layover. Don't be alarmed by tired condition of the steep driveway. Garden pathways lead to nicely appointed, boutique villas.
Rooms offer gorgeous views of gardens and bay in a private, tranquil setting with delicious breakfast selections. Friendly, feral cats are amusing. Quieter travel destination than Bali. Excellent shallow snorkeling, pink sand beaches, komodo dragons and huge manta rays.

SwitzerlandThe hotel requires substantial maintenance.
The hotel has a spectacular seaview and very close to the airport. Also, the price/quality ratio is very good and therefore a good option for a short stay. The staff is friendly and the rooms clean.

Beautiful view from the restaurant, value for money, clean, Good restaurant, we can recommended the French fries, they were deliciously crispy and combined very well with the gado gado sauce. Pak Agra was very helpful and entertained us with his stories of working on the Caribbean cruise ships.

AustriaThe stay had its good points, especially the beautiful view, but it left us feeling a bit weird. When we got there, we paid the bill but didn't get our change back right away – we had to ask for it later. Then, there was the scooter rental situation – they said it was 150 a day, but when we said no, they dropped it to 80. On our first morning, a staff member woke us up at 8 am to clean our room, which was annoying. The shower only stayed hot for like 30 seconds, and the pool was full of bugs, including a tiny scorpion. The road to the hotel was really rough. It's not fun to complain, but it seems like we're not the only ones who've had issues, especially with the person running the place. Overall, it was okay, but we wouldn't go back or tell our friends about it.
The view from the room was incredible, overlooking the pool and the ocean, with nature and flowers all around. Plus, the breakfast was top-notch. It was just a 15-minute scooter ride to the city center, making it convenient to explore.

AustraliaIt’s about 20 minutes drive from Labuan Bajo town but the staff can arrange a driver if you haven’t already made friends with one. The toilet seat was nearly broken

United StatesThe view from our room was amazing. The room is also nicely decorated, the shower had good water pressure. The water wasn’t always hot, but that was okay given that it is very hot outside. The food at the restaurant was delicious and Agra went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. He was also a pleasure to chat with!

AustraliaThe bed post blocks the TV for one person, unless of course you cuddle up closely. The two cats are a bit of a pest and will get under your feet.
10 minutes scooter ride out of town. The views are superb. The room is very nice. The bed is big and comfortable. The view gets even better from the restaurant. The pool is an infinity pool and is another great place to just stare out over the coast line. Staff are very professional. We booked for two nights but stayed three and didn't want to go home.

IndonesiaIt's a bit distant from the city, which personally didn't bother me, but it's worth considering if frequent city visits are essential for you. The entrance road to the hotel needs improvement; the staff mentioned they plan to enhance it within the next two months, around May 2024.
The experience was tranquil. Despite its distance from the city, the serenity it offered was worth it. The view was exceptional, the staff was helpful, and I even had the bonus of meeting two lovely cats.

AustraliaNothing. Perhaps the only thing which could be improved is how the cleaning staff wait directly outside the villa door to clean if you are in your room in the morning. Other than that, I had the BEST stay.
The bed, the room, the view, the pool, the peace, the wonderful food, and the friendly villa cats that I fell in love with! A wonderful, quiet and peaceful stay 10 minutes outside of Labuan Bajo city centre, but it felt like a world away from the city. I highly recommend Theodor to everyone, except those who have mobility issues, as it is built on a hill so there are many steps. Overall, a hidden paradise.

United KingdomWe stayed here for five days and had a wonderful time there. The view from your balcony is amazing: just blue ocean, green mountains and tiny fishing boats. And it's so quiet!! The accommodation is very fine and it's thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. From the restaurant you have a spectacular 270° surround view, which makes it a wonderful place for your breakfast, lunch and dinner (sunset!). The menu is a bit limited for vegetarians, but everything tasted fine. From the swimming pool you can look over the green trees below and watch the sea: wonderful. The staff is very friendly, including the people in the restaurant and mr. Agra, the new manager, who for many years worked on cruise ships and tries to help you whenever possible. One thing to realise: the hotel is quite some distance from Labuan Bajo. Meaning you need transportation anytime you want to go places. There is a local beach (with a bit more litter than we would care for) within 15 - 30 minutes walking distance though. All in all: highly recommended, a dream come true, an ideal place to relax (but get yourself some form of transportation)! Greet & Elmer

IndonesiaWe had organised an airport pickup which never came. A previous guests underpants were hanging on the back of the bathroom door! The room is spacious but the furniture is not functional. There is nowhere to put anything, especially in the bathroom. No desk, table or shelf.
This place has the best views in Labuan Bajo. From your window and balcony you look directly over the sea. It's magnificent. It's far from anywhere else so you need to hire a car or bike but it's perfect for peaceful relaxation. The restaurant food is OK but a small menu.

LithuaniaLocation is in the middle of nowhere, far from everything. So unless you have a motorbike rented or a car, you are stuck. They have a restaurant where you can buy lunch as dinner (the food there was amazing). Also saw mini scorpion in the room, which made us feel a bit unsafe.
Beautiful location, on top of the hill, facing the ocean. Comfortable bed, clean room. They have a lovely cat that comes to the balcony meowing and keep you company. The pool is amazing, the environment beautifully maintained. As we had to leave earlier, we asked if it’s possible to have take away box. They prepared us the most delicious tortilla wraps which was just absolutely amazing. We were very grateful for these efforts. Water refills also provided.
