Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaA beautiful authentic Balinese villa with private pool and fantastic views over Mt Agung, very tranquil and relaxing. There are a few nice restaurants only a few minutes walk away and you can rent a scooter to visit the rice fields, local temples and waterfalls, Sebatu is a lovely village not overrun by tourists.

We spent five days here and it was one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to. The Balinese-style villa is surrounded by nature on all sides: jungle and rice fields where farmers grow rice in a traditional way. You can see the volcano from the terrace. Fireflies can be seen in the neighboring fields at night. In the lush garden around the house you can meet a praying mantis, a gecko and frogs croaking at night. There are very good restaurants and small shops within walking distance. Triana is a wonderful host. Prepares delicious, healthy breakfasts, rents a motorbike, and is happy to meet your every need. We recommend it to anyone who wants to see real, traditional Bali, away from the crowds.

Everything was perfect. It is a must-see point in each Bali trip. The location of the vila is perfect and the view is just a breathtaking. If you like to deep in nature, but also close to a few good restaurants, you will be happy for sure. The host is a lovely woman, who really cares about her guests. We travel with a 2 year old baby, we enjoyed the swimming pool and the outdoor bath.

GermanyThat we had to leave. We would have loved to spend more time at Umah Capung!
Triana is the best host you can imagine. She made us delicious breakfast every day, took the time to recommend us the best places to visit and booked everything we wanted at moderate prices. When one night we realized that we had no hot water, Triana and her husband came to our villa immediately and fixed it. The villa itself is even more beautiful than on the photos. You cannot see it from the street, so you are completely isolated from the rest of the world and can enjoy the sounds of the lush jungle. If you feel like eating out, there is a variety of pretty restaurants you can easily reach by foot. They sometimes even offer live music or Balinese dancing - just ask Triana, she will know!

AustraliaI loved everything. But for those people who aren't used to it, the bathtub and toilet are outside (fyi), however I really enjoyed the flower bath outside! There are small creatures and insects around which I didn't mind at all. In fact I loved them and may have left my door open in order to wake up to a nice view. There is a bug net around the bed however there weren't too many mosquitoes around at the villa itself. It is a bit colder up the mountain which I loved as well.
I loved everything especially waking up to the sunrise and the view of the mountain. It was an amazing place to end my trip for a few days to recharge, reset and rest before going back to reality. I loved eating the fruit that is grown around the villa. The host (Triana) and her family were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. I requested flower baths and a floating breakfast. Just absolutely amazing. Having nature around me such as gecko's, frogs, dragonflies, butterflies, fireflies, lizards coming and going. This villa suited me perfectly, super peaceful! There is a waterfall and temple very close by to the villa, you can rent a scooter from the host. I booked here last minute and the villa was ready with bottled water and fresh fruit (took me about an hour to be driven there from booking time). Absolutely such a stunning place. It's great as a honeymoon place or for solo travellers. Triana has become like a little sister to me. I will definitely come back again and recommend it to my friends. There is also WiFi, air-conditioning, Netflix and YouTube on the TV too. I had a masseuse massage me at the villa as well. They also offer tours too. Make sure to request scooters, flower baths and such a day beforehand so they can prepare for it. It is a quiet area and scooters are best to use to go around as the road can only really fit 1.5 cars maybe? Cars can still be used to go around since the roads are next to ricefields.

HungaryEverything was great.
We loved an amazing view to jungles and the mountain; the sweetest host and our new family member Triana; the interior of the villa; the location with the feel of being in a countryside with no hustles and no people around. There are three great 'day trips' accessible by foot from the hotel - the waterfall, an amazing temple, and the 'holy spring'. Triana always made sure to serve us fresh fruits and super tasty traditional Indonesian coconut pancakes as a treat. The outside bathroom is an experience you don't want to miss. The swimming pool was a great add-on after our daily walks. There are several great restaurants in a walking distance. This is a great place for nature lovers.

AustraliaI can’t fault it!
Everything! The villas were beautiful with views of the mountain and rice fields, very luxurious for a modest price point. Triana went above and beyond during our stay with recommending restaurants, booking taxis and hiring scooters, organising massages and providing room service. The location was perfect as you’re a bit out of Ubud and truely in the rice fields and jungle it’s very peaceful, still very quick and easy to get into Ubud via taxi or scooter. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was very hard to leave!

Ukrainevery atmospheric and cute place! the owners were very kind and attentive) peace and tranquility, very clean! Of course, there are sounds of geckos here (as in the 5 villas where I stayed before) and this is normal for Bali! people who complain about geckos apparently don’t understand where they have come, this is an island and the wildlife is part of it) I will definitely return to this place again!

SwedenThe place was wonderful and we felt welcomed and at home from the very first second we met Triana. The room was spacious and well furnished, the view of the jungle was breathtaking and sitting by the pool felt like we were alone in nature. The surroundings were very quiet, except for some animal noises from the jungle which actually made the place even more charming. Triana was so kind and so helpful with all from booking massages, telling us what one can do in the area, helping us to rent a scooter, get something to drink and making us tasty breakfast each morning. She was very easy to talk to and gave us an insight in Balinese culture. Truthfully, we would have happily stayed longer if the room wasn’t booked the following day. I really recommend this place if you’re looking for a private, relaxing and amazing place to stay at while feeling close to the Balinese nature.

I needed a few days to catch up up on work and this was perfect. Great WiFi, gorgeous view, peaceful and serene. Room service available and very tasty. A great view of Mt Agung. Plenty of cute wildlife too, geckos, frogs and lizards. Easy to walk around the area, which is very picturesque and there are a number of good restaurants and eateries nearby. A motorbike/car is not needed unless you intend to do extensive sightseeing. No traffic at all.
