Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe mosquitos (in spite of using protection, keeping doors shut etc. I got lots of bites) - room design including the stunning garden bathroom makes it easy for mosquitoes to get in. Would have been great if it had a restaurant & bar that was open in the evening. The options in the absence of this were ordering food via Grab (which felt a bit soulless) or getting a taxi into town, however because the traffic was so heavy when I got there this was challenging - it took ages & bookings I made on the Gojek didn’t always get responded to.
Beautiful hotel, stunning design, lovely staff, nice breakfast.

AustraliaIf you get a personal pool room, just know it isn't private. There's some foliage to block the view, but still very visible.
The room and bathroom are enormous and make staying here feel like a home away from home. The location is great for getting around the area.

United Arab Emiratesthat I forgot mosquito spray. 😄 but that was my fault. coming to nature expect animals around 💚
Umani resort is such a hidden gem. surrounded by nature is the perfect escape, the room are beautifully decorated and every one in different couple following the chakras in the body. i loved that concept. there’s yoga shala which I absolute adored, pool, nice open restaurant, the staff was incredible, polite, kind, helpful. i had the honor to meet the owner and he welcomed me so I felt like home. definitely coming back

United KingdomUnfortunately this resort is just not ready for guests in the way advertised (we viewed it on various different websites, not just booking.com). The spa is still being built (though I believe Asti would give me a massage herself if I asked!), there is no PT/yoga teacher for the shala, and the restaurant only serves breakfast, though Subratha kindly brought us coffee/tea one evening. No bar although the staff will bring you juice, tea or water if you ask them. There is a supermarket <5 mins’ walk away. Because the resort is in the middle of a very local area, there are very few food options nearby except street snacks, there are some cafes around 10 mins’ walk away (not paved). You need to get taxis to eat (or order on Grab - a bit depressing on holiday…). This unfortunately did impact our stay quite a bit as it was not possible just to spend a day in the resort since there were no lunch/dinner options in or near it. I wish I had known this before arriving in the evening as we would have eaten before getting to Umani. On top of everything there was some construction noise alongside heavy smoke from wood-burning for our last days which was very frustrating. I feel the cost did not reflect the final product. We booked Umani despite its remoteness because we thought it was self-contained. Lastly, just a note that the “breakfast and water filter issues” raised by another reviewer have not been addressed though the resort says they have been. All in all, the staff and general design of this resort give it its excellence, but I can’t give more than 6 because it is just not finished and we were not informed this was the case (when it’s complete, it will be a 5* resort for sure). We browsed a few sites for the best price but none of them warned us Umani wasn’t finished, so unfortunately, while the setting is idyllic, the advertising isn’t quite fair.
I want to start this review by saying we’ve had an amazing 2-week stay, the villa and the whole resort were absolutely stunning and the staff were literally the best thing about the whole place. They are an asset to Umani. They could not have done more for us and particularly we were looked after wonderfully by Asti, Sri and Subratha, but all the staff were brilliant. Good points - amazing atmosphere and vibe, so peaceful (except for some construction noise and wood-burning towards the end). Good breakfast options well-cooked; but you need to order the day before. Communication from the Front Office team was great though. The layout of the resort is stunning - it really is a haven from the bustle of the local area and surprisingly large. Beautifully designed and kept, stunning, clean pool and the villas offer lots of privacy. Staff are wonderful. it’s so quiet it felt like our own private pool. The garden is AMAZING. The laundry facilities are not running yet so they arranged to take our laundry to a local shop and it was perfect coming back the next day. We struggled getting taxis - the Grab app is very bad for taxis and you need Gojek, but for that you need an Indonesian number - suggest buying a SIM at the airport. However Asti and Sri kindly ordered taxis on their apps for us and we then paid drivers in cash. One night we couldn’t get back from where we were and Asti arranged a Gojek even after she had finished work. The villas are beautiful, especially the amazing bathrooms, but some areas could be better - the wardrobe doors were very temperamental, the curtains kept catching and the bath looks glorious but it’s not possible to fill it as there isn’t enough hot water (you are supposed to fill it by doing 5 mins on, 5 mins’ wait but it’s so big this doesn’t work and the water takes longer than 5 mins to reheat). One night Subratha helped us fill buckets of hot water from the kitchen to make a bath! But sadly it didn’t remain hot for long!
