Initially, we were given a wooden villa which had big black ants falling from ceiling. On reporting the issue, we were promptly given a wider room which exceeded our expectations. Moreover, the bathroom door of the new room did not lock properly and if it locked, it could not unlock easily. The trekking charges of 600 IDR per person was not only expensive but we were not provided two promised services - jeep ride to Batur and inaccessibility to go around crater with children. No concession / rebate / refund was given on these missed services.

The view of Mount Batur and Batur lake was panoramic. The villa surroundings were quiet with lots of sparrows and other birds. We loved the nature! The proprietor / manager, Mr Mowgli, also arranged for a trek to Mount Batur in the early morning. We also enjoyed dinner.

1) Flies. There are flies everywhere, a lot of them! Please stop farming! This is a very beautiful tourist place, but be cause of this it is very unpleasant to live there. 2) There is no refrigerator in the villa (I like coke and ice cream)

The bed in room 6 is a bit squeeky 😁 but overall a very nice stay. You can’t even be mad for the flies. Those are EVERYWHERE near that area. Also, someone should talk about how Grab and GoJek are not allowed in this area. But its fine if you are willing to bargain a bit.

Food wasn’t very good, lots of flies in the restaurant area so didn’t want to linger. . Staff were quite friendly and organised a Batur climb for me but they’re very young and hard to track down! Room smelt pretty mouldy when air con was off which made me not want to stay a second night

Not the staffs fault but a Cockerell started at 430am and did not stop crowing just outside my bungalow. Suggest chickin soup on the menu.

Non to complain about. Be aware that apple maps and google maps show an inaccurate location. Asking around is necessary. Because villa danu is well known that is not a big problem. However we are native indonesian speakers and local english might be lagging.

Roads are poor quality. Difficult to find villa for driver. No fan or airconditioning. Many bugs outside and inside (fly, ant. But i understand because growing onion and tomato nearby). Bathroom floor tiles slippery when wet.

The wait for food and water. There was no refill water station. Some staff had limited English at times which made it difficult. It doesn’t look exactly like it does in pictures online.

Not much I didn't like but if anything it's hard to walk anywhere because it's tucked away, but the staff were really helpful with transport.

The place was really beautiful, lovely villa, pool and gardens. The staff were really helpful and friendly too. The best part though is waking up to the view of the lake and mountain, it's stunning!

The shower in our villa needed some renovation. Be aware that it is located in a very small village with virtually nothing within walking distance.

A great place for those who want to do the sunrise volcano tour! Mr Mowgli is a tour guide who I will totally recommend. Communication via WhatsApp was really easy and helpful in any way. The mountain and lake view is stunning! Our villa was nice and cosy. There is a tiny restaurant. the food is ok, but not too great. Be ready for a long drive, with the last 400m of unpaved road. Thank you, Mowgli! We had a great time staying in Villa Danu 😊
