Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere were insufficient plates, glasses and cutlery for the villa’s capacity. Although the Villa had a kitchen, there was no plug for the sink or hot water or detergent. Unfortunately, the surrounding rice paddies were being burnt off so there was a lot of smoke.
The property had 3 bedrooms with ensuites which suited our adult family. It was away from the more touristy areas but close enough for a short Gojek ride. They offered airport pickup which we organised before arrival. They provided filtered water.

JapanFirst off the house looked nothing like the pictures. There were stains on everything including the curtains, couch, toilet, lampshades, walls and floors. There was even stains and water damage on the breakfast menu. The bathrooms had so much soap scum it’s hard to believe they have ever been cleaned. The cabinetry around the whole house has damage and in some areas are broken or moldy. Our shower head had so much calcification only a few streams of water could come out of fifty holes. The manager did have someone come to clear the shower head but we were told they would clean and they definitely did not clean. This was the most expensive place we have stayed in Bali and it was the worst. I was very disappointed. I was expecting to have a final night here with my family in a bright, clean and beautiful villa. Instead I was disgusted and felt robbed. Since it was so secluded and we were tired we just took the loss but I have never seen accommodations like this and warn the next person thinking of staying there.
This property has a lot of potential. The mattresses were comfortable & the layout is really nice. However, it was hard to feel comfortable in such a run down and dirty house.

AustraliaUpstairs bathroom smelled the sewers, a few things in the house that could be fixed (eg: wooden boards on the terrace that need to be changed, upstairs bathroom that needs to be repainted), but otherwise great stay. Highly recommended.
Peaceful location, out of the main road, with lovely small local cafés near by. Staff are very friendly and responsive. Great local food brought to our villa from Nyanyi Sanctuary chef. Very close to an amazing sunset spot (Pantai Mengening) away from tourists, with local food and drinks.

MalaysiaJust a bit run down. Not much, if they do deep cleaning probably would solve it. The villas are not dirty, it’s just some old stains which needs machine to clean it. And the food was not so good. It was okay, but I would suggests eating outside try the local cuisine.
The property was very nicy located and surrounded by nice paddy terraces. The villas was designed beautifully with open concept living and pool. The staffs hospitality were exceptionally brilliant! Definitely will stay here again

Singaporethe villas seem to have changed owner. some parts are branded with the new logo but that’s it. the villas really really need refurbishment: a new kitchen, paint, it’s unclean and the staff has not been trained. they’re kind but have no clue about what is required to run a hotel/hospitality. they wanted to charge extra for cleaning the room, the payment terminal was not working, they overcharged us by double booking items for the minibar and the restaurant was not open. the trash was not taken, and so on.
nice location just outside the busy-ness of Perereran.

United KingdomThe kitchen was pretty meh. Drawers were heavy and squeaky and the utensils and cutlery provided were subpar. Not a problem for us as we didn't cook. Also, the pillows were HUGE which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable if you're not used to it.
Lovely pool, beautiful clean rooms, and helpful staff. Nice surroundings but you'll need a scooter/car to get around. Would defo stay here again.

IndonesiaUPDATE: The manager named Yanti asked me to take down this honest review for money! Poor management and lacked honesty. The villa was absolutely nothing like as advertised. There is no spa, and there is no restaurant as mentioned by the property listing. You get a small menu for breakfast with barely any choices and only Indonesian breakfast, and the photos from the listing showed an international variety. The taste of the breakfast was mediocre and very greasy. Different people own each villa. We were first offered to stay at the villa called Joged, and it was the most disgusting place I have ever seen. The kitchen was filthy - this includes all amenities, the refrigerator, glasses, pans (which were completely worn out) and the microwave plate with nauseating leftovers. The bedding on the bungalow was mouldy, and the outdoor lounge chairs were ripped. The living area stank of a dead animal, and the TV was broken (the LCD was cracked). Crumbs filled the sofas, and the wifi was incredibly slow. The armchair sofa in the bedroom was also filled with dirt and crumbs. Behind the TV, homed cobwebs and dust. The bathtub was mouldy, the toilet seat was different in colour (orange/yellow), and the toilet was whiter. How could this be? It’s disgusting. With the complaints mentioned above, we were moved and upgraded to a different, larger villa with its flaws. The bathroom smelled like someone peed on the floor, and the pool water PH was imbalanced. The water dispenser was completely open and filled with mouldy orange crusts, which we had to clean ourselves. When you opened them, it hurt the eyes, and the water was unclean. Overall, this stay was not worth Rp800k++ per night.
The villa was located at a quiet place called Nyanyi, and it had a fantastic rice paddy view outside of the villa. The staff under the name Anggun was friendly and attentive. The size of the property met our expectations.
