How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Only recommendation would be to have an aircon in the main lounge room but not essential
We loved our stay at Villa Kupu Kupu. The location was excellent. We loved our entry being off a quieter street. Walking distance to so many exceptional cafes and boutique shops. Close to the beach! The accommodation was lovely! The pool was great. Our kids loved playing and we could be relaxing from bed watching them.

All great!
Great place and location. Really private and the pool was a good size. Moments walk to Cashew Tree, Seed, Frencha bakery and other great places to eat and relax and a short walk to the beach. Plus walking to yoga classes. The management and staff for cleaning/bed changing etc were really responsive. Highly recommend.

The only issue if that the sitting room does not have an airconditioning system. Only the bedrooms do have these.
We recently stayed at Villa Kupu Kupu Bingin and were extremely happy with the service provided by the staff (especially Hendrik), the cleanliness of the villa and its location. We were able to easily walk to many great restaurants, cafes and the beach. The pool was awesome! We enjoyed it much. The only issue if that the sitting room does not have an airconditioning system. Only the bedrooms do have these. It gets really heated up in there and with all the flies and insects flying around its not that much really nice. Overall it was a great experience.

During a heavy rain the electricity was going on and off very frequently and also the voltage was going up and down.
The villa was located in quiet and somewhat isolated area. Rooms were clean and in good condition. The pool was also with good size and clean. We were staying with 9 people in two villas and everyone mentioned that the beds were very comfortable.

I believe the kitchen/lounge area which is seperate to the bedrooms requires an air conditioner. For us, this area wasn’t useable as the fan just didn’t cut it with the heat.
The staff especially Hendrik who I dealt with the most were absolutely lovely and professional. Always asking if we need anything else, etc. The facilities were nice and clean both outside and inside and the location was fantastic. Close to many restaurants and cafes. Ideal to hire a scooter as it makes it a lot easier to get around especially being so hot.

The only thing we would add was 2 extra sunbeds (which the staff did add later)
Location was great! Great value for money and very comfortable. Frederick was so helpful we really enjoyed our stay.

Not a big deal, but it would be nice if the living room could be closed off with air conditioning. Mostly because of an occasional mosquito…when the lights are on and the doors are open to keep it cool mozzies come in at night if you choose to gather for a movie before bedtime.
Clean, comfy and close to everything. You could walk, but the staff can arrange scooters to use (scooters were nice). We loved being able to stay in a house where we could gather as a group. The rooms and en-suites were great.

The room service / maintenance was minimal - would’ve been nice to have some fresh towels as they were taken at times and not replaced… but this is a super minor detail!
Absolutely loved the pool, the lay out, the spacious rooms and beautiful bathrooms! The aircon in the rooms was great :)

Lizards sneaking into rooms!
Great villa which was very spacious and clean. Staff was attentive and kind and Windy who was our host was always responsive to our needs. Close to restaurants like cashew tree and French bakery but the main strip is about 1 km away, doable by taxi/motorbike (not safe to walk with kids).

One Villa had broken AC and it took until 10pm on our 3rd night to have it repaired. We received one nights refund which was nice but it was very uncomfortable without the AC ( the portable ac provided was insufficient). I don’t know why the lounge/dining/kitchen area doesn’t have AC. We couldn’t use it which was a shame. Could do with more chairs/beanbags around the pool as wasn’t enough for our 6 family members to all be at the pool together.
Beautiful spacious villas around an amazing pool within short walking distance to beach, cafes, yoga studios. Staff were nice and friendly and helpful. Very clean. Quiet despite construction work next door.

The property was so spacious and beautiful! We loved every second of it, the pool is such a generous size also. Windy and her team were so accommodating and made our stay even more special/comfortable, so a big thank you to Windy :)

One morning the water went off and was unable to use the shower or toilet but issue ended up being resolved later on
Villa was amazing. The location the facilities were top notch. The pool was nice and deep. Staff were lovely. Pictures don't do it justice. A night swim with a few Bintangs is definitely a must 😁

The villa was nicely finished and furnished, and is bigger in person than the pictures really show. Even though it is a villa, cleaners came in each day to do a bit of upkeep which was very helpful.

We simply loved this Villa. It was in a good area with walking distance to great food choices but it was also very quiet and allowed us to spend good quality time with our little family. The staff were always so helpful and we can't wait to return next year.

A lot of construction noise (but that is common in that area).
Gorgeous pool. Very private. Comfortable beds. Beautiful bathrooms. Good to have a smart tv. A couple of good places to eat in walking distance.
