Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germany- location is far outside of Ubud, you need a scooter to get to the central or you could walk ~1-1,5h - the breakfast was served in plastic everyday, Bali already has a plastic/pollution problem, there are alternatives like reusable food containers or paper ones - the mosquito net was a little bit dirty and smelly - looked bigger in the pictures but was still completely fine!
+ the staff was super friendly, fast response, very supportive and helpful - thanks again :-) + the villa is beautiful, nice outdoor bathroom and relaxation area outside + it’s located in the rice fields and you can overlook the mountains + WiFi worked properly + breakfast included, good portions + pick up/driver from and to the airport was organised, but isn’t included in the price (-)

IndiaThe manager Parwa was incompetent. Did not clean the room in 3 nights of stay. Garbage was overflowing. Did not provide drinking water. While handing over the villa continuously stressed on switching everything off when not in use. That seemed normal common sense.
Location was really beautiful. Very well maintained property which has been made with a lot of thought.. Safe environment too.

United KingdomI would have preferred a sun lounger you can lie flat on, but that's just a personal preference.
I was greeted by Komang and taken to the villa (it's a short walk through the rice fields from the main road). It was beautiful, set in the middle of rice fields and surrounded by luscious vegetation. It felt very private which was nice. I would point out to people that it is set in the middle of nature, so you will get to hear and see various animals, which I loved but often people forget that part when they are booking a villa in the middle of rice fields! :) The breakfast, which was delicious, was brought to the villa every morning at a time I requested which was convenient (though it can be limiting if you want to head out early). The plunge pool was a great way to cool down and cleaned every morning. I booked a bicycle through the owner and it was the best way to get around! Forget the scooter, just get a bike - cheaper, keeps you fit and environmentally friendly! Because of the villa's location, you do need something to get around and visit sights and shops. Also, I loved seeing fire flies in the rice fields at night, so magical!

MalaysiaIt’s an independent unit. There’s no 24 hrs room service like a hotel.
it’s a place in the rice fields. When you get out of the door you are in the farming community. Its great for us.

United KingdomThe location wasn't great for us, it's in the middle of the rice fields - so only stay here if you like being secluded in nature. Due to the location, there's no central reception or anything like that. Once you arrive you are practically on your own. Someone will greet you and take you to the villa but that's it. The breakfast isn't worth it either. It's 20 mins from Ubud centre so you best hire a scooter or taxi for the day. Due to the remoteness of the location, you are prone to power cuts as well, which is far from ideal.
Not much to like

PolandThere are 2 villas on this posting, be careful which one you're booking. One has a pool, the water was so dirty you could barely see the underwater lamp 20 cm under water. Bathroom needs proper maintenance, sink and toilet part of the bathroom are ok but the bath tube is quite old, some bits were falling off. The floor between bath tube and the shower was full of stones and dirt, paint is falling off the wall.
Located out in the middle of rice fields. Comfortable bed, fridge was a nice add-on. Very helpful staff

IrelandThe place is amazing, very beautiful, clean, and organized. It's a peaceful place, There are not many restaurants and facilities around, it's a relaxing place. Around 20 min from the centre of Ubud. So better get a bike or a taxi. No complains at all, just saying that a remote place for relaxing and being in the piece. The staff was amazing, they made to us a lovely breakfast, were very helpful, and showed was everything in the villa. I would stay there again, no doubt.

FranceI didn't have the ricefield view from the villa but honestly didn't bother me that much
There were some electrical issues in the villa, so I wasn't able to stay there. The staff were lovely, efficient and found me quickly another place to stay in Ubud. The villa was actually closer to the city center and more luxurious. It was called Atta Mesari. Thanks :)

AustraliaThe shower did run hot to warm, be careful of the hot.
The service provided by Mr Parwa is exceptional, from the moment I arrived to the moment I left, he made my stay in Ubud a breeze. He waited for my delayed arrival until 3 am, obtained some medicine for me (beer and pain relief pharmaceuticals), organized a massage, dropped me off and picked me up from my cooking class, and organised scooter rental and car transfer to Seminyak. The place is not perfect but it was perfect for me and my budget. Beautiful views, a nice plunge pool and private. If you organise a scooter you are in the middle of everything. I highly recommend Vinarya Villa and wish Parwa all the best going forward, thank you very much.
