Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaNothing.
The host was very nice, she rented us a scooter for a fair price (100k/day, 50k/half day), breakfast was ok (choose from omlette, fried eggs, banana pancake, with tea or coffee and water). The yard was very well mantained and beautiful. AC worked well. There were no mosquitos or other living beings in the room. We had everything we needed at a fair price for what was offered.

United KingdomThere was an electric socket hanging off in the room, so didn’t feel safe to use. Would be nice if rooms serviced each day.
The hospitality was amazing - I felt like I had my own PA with me.. every trip and ferry was booked for me, nothing was too much trouble. Location was a 10 min walk from harbour, with plenty of restaurants around. Room was spacious and air con was good. Garden was impressive- everyone worked hard to make it look great. Breakfast was served at the time you needed- I had an early start one morning and it was no trouble for them to make it early. A fabulous stay for the money.

IrelandThe location of the property was perfect for our needs! We stayed for one night to get our tour of Nusa penida done early in the day. Yasa homestay was very clean with a very comfortable bed. It was so affordable and included breakfast which was great and helped set us up for our day of touring. The host was very welcoming and even sorted us out with bikes so we could get around the evening before our tour and see a little bit more of penida ourselves.

GermanyI didn’t like that we had to leave 😭
Deserves at least 10 Stars - our favourite spot during Bali trip! As soon as we arrived we felt warmly welcomed and the family made us feel at home immediately. We already missed the place and the family when leaving on the boat. If you want to get to know more about everyday life in nusa penida/ Bali - this is the place to be. It is wonderful to watch while Temple offerings are being prepared. We learned a lot about the Balinese culture, local Hindu religion and the island from Candra, Budiani and the rest of the family. We also got many very helpful local recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants and help for booking tours. The location of the house is really good. You have everything you need in walking distance- including the harbour/ supermarket/ fruit market/ restaurants/ pharmacy/ emergency room/spa. For tours around the island you have to rent a car+driver or a scooter. (The family can help with good recommendations here too!). We really enjoyed our room which looked a little like a temple from outside. (Right next to the House temple) Inside it’s a modest but comfortable living/ sleeping room. Our room was really clean but as the room has a wooden doors and windows that don’t close 100% sometimes a few ants were entering but we were not bothered by them at all. We were enjoying the terrasse a lot while eating delicious banana pancakes for breakfast or reading a book during the evenings/nights. It is really relaxing to enjoy the view on the garden and hear garden fountain or the rain in rain season.

SwitzerlandThe room is basic but if you plan to be out exploring it is everything it needs to be and you can't beat the value or the family experience here.
Right from the point of booking Candra is in touch by WhatsApp with details about your stay. Once you arrive he continues to make sure you have all the information and connections you need. He set us up with an amazing snorkelling adventure as well and a driver to explore by land all within his network of friends. The rest of the family takes care of everything onsite so a real homestay experience. Breakfast was good, the beds were comfortable and the location is perfect for exploring (and arriving from the ferry) the island. Stay here, you won't regret it and you can't beat the value.

The Homestay is very good located and the host is super helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The internet connection was stable with decent speed. It was a very nice experience to live with the locals for few days. This place is not a luxurious place, or a hotel, but it has everything you need. Perfect for a 2 nights getaway in Nusa Penida

Strategic location, that we didn't even feel the walk from Banjar Nyuh port, and the vibe was still alive until night. Room and bathroom are super clean. Garden gave the feeling of home. And the family there paid attention and cared to little details such as bike rental, snorkeling trip, destinations; very helpful for first-timer tourist! Thank you very much, Yasa homestay!

The room was basic however, it was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed! The people are what really make this place; they make you feel at home and are always there to help with any questions. They even helped us book boat tickets and walked us to the harbour so we knew what to do. They also make the best banana pancakes and bring it to your room at whatever time you request!

Yasa Homestay offered a remarkable two-day retreat, exceeding expectations in every aspect. Candra, our host, initiated thoughtful communication through WhatsApp, providing detailed information on the homestay, the island, and recommended excursions. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Candra and his family to a charming cottage with a private terrace, surrounded by a well-maintained garden. The cleanliness and attention to detail were exceptional. Candra's proactive assistance extended to organizing island tours, where he not only shared valuable insights but also took the initiative to book everything, ensuring a hassle-free experience. Candra's dedication continued with detailed directions sent via WhatsApp for the rest of my journey towards the Lombok region. The homestay's convenient location further added to the positive experience. In summary, Yasa Homestay provides a delightful blend of comfort and hospitality, making it a standout choice. Special thanks to Candra and his family for creating an exceptional stay. Highly recommended!

NetherlandsI stayed at Yasa homestay for 6 nights in january 2024. I stayed in one of the queen rooms. I have only good things to say about this place. I was contacted throught whatsapp almost immediately after booking, and got loads of information about the island, where to go and how to get around. The family running it is extremely welcoming and Candra (the son who speaks good English) will help you with anything you need, including information and help with bookings, a ride to the dive shop, and even stuff you didn't know you wanted, like a fresh coconut right out of the tree in the garden, a nice cold home-made ice tea or a coffee. They even offered me vitamins when I got a cold! I rented one of their scooters, completely hassle-free. Breakfast is included and is basic but decent, tasty, punctual at any time you want, so really all you need. The room was very spacious and clean. There was a couch, clothesrack and make-up table, aside from a huge bathroom. Great bed as well. Air conditioning worked very well, as well as the WiFi. I will absolutely recommend this place to anyone staying on Nusa Penida! Incredibly nice experience! Thank you Candra and family!

United StatesThere was nothing I didn’t like about the property. The food, the location , the accommodations, the hospitality were all amazing.
I booked this homestay while on the ferry to Nusa Penida. I’m a solo female traveler and I chose Yasa Homestay because of the excellent reviews and close proximity to the port. I didn’t ant to deal with taking a taxi. You can just walk to the homestay. It was perfect. I had no idea my experience at the Yasa Homestay would be the highlight of my 5 weeks in Indonesia. The entire family was extremely kind and welcoming. Candra was very communicative on my arrival and was eager to help answer any questions and set up tours and transport. (I don’t drive scooters and he was extremely helpful arranging transportation to and from local dinner spots.) Hands down the highlight of my entire trip was a sunrise motorbike tour to the east side of the island with Koming as my guide. We rode the scenic drive to Atuh beach, Diamond Beach, had breakfast near the Treehouse and then had a beautiful coastline drive back to the (partially underground!) Goa Giri Putri Temple to observe the Sunday ceremony. Before heading back to the homestay we stopped by one the local warungs to pick up some Ledok, an excellent dish native to Nusa Penida . By the end of 48 hours they really felt like family. Budiani makes the best breakfast and coffee that’s ready and waiting even when you have an early boat to catch. I genuinely cannot wait to go back. I’m certain you’ll enjoy your time here.
