Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe staff is really nice and helpful. This is a modest hostel but for me was enough. I stayed in the female dorm and it was not bad, the only thing was that there was not a lot of space for leaving the things, no curtains and no ac. For me with the fan was fine. We rent the motorbikes with them and it was all good. Also they help you with any question that you might have

AustraliaThe mosquito nets could be a bit larger/fashioned in a cuboid shape, so that it is roomy and fits the mattress well.
It's a quirky little hostel that's unlike any other that I've stayed at before. Staying there was an experience itself. Would recommend for seasoned hostel dwellers that aren't too fussy.

United KingdomThe infrastructure was a bit rudimentary at times, some of the building seems like it almost fell apart and the rooms were almost like a cottage built with leftovers from older buildings. So not very safe, if you are in your 20s and looking for an experience like sleeping in the tree house this is must! If you are over 30s or with any physical disability be careful.
The very chill and punk vibe makes me feel like I'm in my 20s We love the warm welcome of Mr D. He was full of advice and always ready to help us with everything!!!! Best staff 1000000%

What a unique place to stay in Yogjakarta. Yez Yez is in a neighbourhood with restaurants and cafes. It is beautifully decorated. It looks a bit bohemian, but the decoration is really done with style and a lot of good taste. The atmosphere is relaxed, lots of friendly people and a great location to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while.

PortugalI must admit that I wasn't pleased with the policy of charging for luggage storage and allowing guests to remain in the hostel after check-out. This was a new experience for me, and I believe it's an aspect that should be reconsidered. It didn't contribute to the pleasant stay I had. I understand that your team is simply following policies, and it's not their fault. Additionally, I would like to suggest that providing a blanket would be a nice gesture. If available would enhance the overall guest experience.
I wanted to share my wonderful experience during my recent stay at your hostel. The positive atmosphere truly made a difference, and while luxury wasn't expected, the welcoming ambiance, hospitality, and great vibes were truly remarkable. The space itself was pleasant, and if I ever decide to return, there's no doubt I'll choose your hostel again. I must mention Darius and the receptionist (whose name unfortunately escapes me), as they were absolutely incredible. Their friendliness was off the charts.

ItalyThe hostel has virtually no walls - you rely on other guests’ kindness in respecting silence at night. We got lucky one night, then kept awake until 3am the following one.

FranceThere's no phonic isolation at all. The rule is to be quiet from 11pm, but then it's up to the guests to respect it or not... Indeed, the mosques around are super loud, but it's clearly specified in the description, it shouldn't be a surprise (and in Java it's difficult to avoid it). They provide earplugs, you really want to use it ! Last, they ask 50k/bag to keep them after you check out, which I find ridiculous. Even in the most simple accommodations we've been to, it was always free.
This hostel is the perfect place if you want to meet other (western) travellers. The common areas are very nice, they have books and games to borrow or exchange. The staff is welcoming and helpful The hotel is located in the neighborhood of Prawirotawan, that is full of other hotels and cafes, restaurants. It is at a walkable distance from the touristic places. We booked a private room, which is basic but enough. There is a mattress on the floor with a mosquito net (we used our own the second night and it was better) and a bathroom, clean, with cold water.

United KingdomWas 70rp the first night, then when we come to extend it is 125rp. Beers are expensive for a hostel and cannot bring any outside drinks in. If you book the small mix dorm you will be on a mattress outside

United StatesThe room could be a bit nicer, but you get what you pay for with this hostel. I can't really complain, but it's not a place for those looking for more than rustic. I think they are pretty honest upfront with what they offer. Don't have high expectations and just enjoy the other guests and you'll have a nice time.
I liked the location. Nice part of the city near locals, good restaurants, nice vibe. Host was very helpful and gave good recommendations. Good showers and good wifi.

NetherlandsDo not expect luxury; there’s no curtains in the rooms or hot shower nor is there AC (there are a lot of fans though). I honestly didn’t really miss any of these things but if you prefer more comfort this might not be the hostel for you.
I had the best time in yezyezyez and met the most amazing people, I can really recommend it! The atmosphere in this hostel is so good, the staff is amazing and makes the place feel like a second home. It is really nice to chill, relax and explore Yogya from here. NetherlandsThe facilities are rather ‘primitive’ in the sense that there is no hot water and no airconditioning. This could sometimes be a little annoying when you had a long sweaty day.

SloveniaIf you are looking for a different and relaxed “hippie style” place, this hostel is for you. We really enjoy staying there, staff is super nice and always ready to help. Same foes for owner. They really gave us great tips and we booked all trips there. Guides for temples were awesome and the one for a half day bicycle tour was also TOP - highly recommend this tour since you can see country side and meet some locals. Ok back to the hostel. The place is basic but it has everything you need. There is even refilling station for water and a swimming pool. Our room was next to the street and the noise from the street it didn’t disturb us during the night at all. It is close to the cool places - bars and restaurants. And the best is that they stay very cool people so you can meet them and enjoy their stories.
