Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe shower was not very powerful. As the name was Yoga home stay I thought there would be yoga classes but Yoga is apparently the name of the owners son
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We took a day trip for the waterfall trek which was amazing. Also took a longer trip to Lovina beach to see dolphins and visit Buddhist temple and hot springs. This was also wonderful.

GermanyAll fine!
Beautiful family-run place in a quiet environment in the middle of scenic rice-fields. Without transport-option a little bit far outside, but the helpful family can organise everything you need, including the tasty little restaurant on a terrace with fantastic view. We felt at home!

FranceIf you are a light sleeper, take a night mask and some ear plugs.
We had a wonderful time with this beatiful family showing kindness at its most. They were very helpful and cheerful. We appreciated the cooking lesson, the offerings demonstration and the fact that we got to see a wedding ceremony! The area was calm with the sound of a little river (and what to say about the amazing Balinese singing from the locals in the morning) nearby and you have easy access to the terrace fields and one of the waterfalls is at a walking distance. Dishes at the homestay's restaurant are very good and cheap prepared by the manager. Totally recommend this accommodation and a big thanks to Jero and her family.

Munduk is really a great place to stay. So peaceful over there and away from the busy traffic. The host is a 10 out of 10. You feel very welcome and it's like a second family during your stay. You have a nice breakfast and also the dinner in the evening is amazing. Especially the pork ribs. You can also book some activities with them. I took the cooking class, with the host + walk near your stay. The ricefields over there are so amazing and the waterfall is spectacular. I was there all alone to take a dip. No other people around. I highly recommend this place to visit.

GermanyNothing to complain. If one wants to be very picky, it might be noted that WiFi is a bit inconsistent, but just take it as a chance for digital detox! ;-) Carefull with the hot water, it can get really hot...
Wonderful hosts. Jero and her family are very friendly and made us almost feel part of her family - we felt very welcome!

Jero is an excellent hostess. It couldn't be better for our demands. The stay was excellent. It was a perfect place to get to know the country, nature, people and their habits better. We felt part of Jero's family.

Belgiumeverything was good! the only misadvantage we were a little bit far from a restaurant or shopping but at the end we come for the employees the beauty of the nature
We liked the warm welcome, Jero was exceptional, she gave us a marvellous cooking lesson in last minute as it was not booked beforehand and we ate a lovely dish with my two daughters. The following day after a good nigtht, we went for a walk in the rice fields and to a waterfall where there was nobody, no tourists at all! Paradise and we went for a swim as well! very nice!

GermanyNothing for us, for some if you want anonymous luxury or cannot live without a pool (the area is colder than the south so it is not necessary) then this may not be the right place for you.
It was probably our best accommodation in Bali, such a nice place, super cosy and homey with the two ladies making it such a special experience. We did a cooking course with Jero which was great (already recooked something at home). We also walked to the nearby waterfall where the path is still perfectly intact but we were completely by ourselves. The atmosphere in the rice fields is wonderful and makes breakfast (and sometimes dinner) so amazing. I would recommend everyone to come there if you want a homestay authentic experience and want to relax and explore the area. We rented scooters and drove around Banyuatis and Munduk. They would have offered more tours which we did not have time for but sounded great.

AustraliaA bit disappointing that the staff of the home stay are not the owners, which felt a bit inauthentic. The room we stayed in is in need of a renovation with broken towel rail, damage on walls and a very strange/uncomfortable toilet design. A bit noisy too despite rural location
Beautiful location with scenic views, especially for breakfast/sunset. Walking distance to a local waterfall. Great food (you can order dinner and lunch which we only found out at the end of our stay). Good price
