Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot a big problem, but the windows could have been a little cleaner on the inside in the living room.
A lovely location with the mountains in the distance. Three bedrooms, all with en suite. All appliances were hi spec and a great log burner for chilly nights. Comfortable beds and sofas. A ten minute walk to the local pub - The Village inn or "Nuala's place" A great pub ! You will need 50 euro cash when you arrive for a deposit for the electric.

United KingdomNothing negative as such regarding accommodation. Take care while using navigation systems as sometimes the route it works out is steep (not the accommodation issue but more of a navigator issue)
Excellent facilities. Clear communication. Comfortable rooms

IrelandMaybe Easter isn't the best time for teenagers as some of the mountain bike hiring and kayaking are closed midweek. Older TV so you would need to being leads.
Tranquillity, walks, facilities in the house. Very comfortable living arrangements. Rugby experience only 50 minutes away a must for everyone.

IrelandTeenage children didn’t like the poor cellular reception in area. There was wifi in parts of house which could have been stronger. This did however help with less phone time.
Stayed in lodge 10. All was very clean and tidy on arrival. As it was November in a lodge it could be cold as you would expect . However the wooden stove and electric heaters meant you could have it as warm as you want. The wooden stove made it nice and cosy in the evening and was enough for us after a days mountain biking in the nearby Ballyhoura cycle trails. Nice to lookout in the evening and see the stars overhead even if weather was not always great. All mods cons required were included. Would definitely go back again. Our small dog even loved it. Lots of parking on site.

United KingdomOnly downside is having to pay extra for the electricity you used, the appliances are not the most efficient - ended up being 25 euro for 3 nights. Not much, but also not the nicest way to end a holiday.
Beautiful location, amazing log fire, playground right outside the front door 2 others within the small complex of houses - one with a zip wire and the other outdoor climbing frame.

IrelandThe musty smell ☹️ Make sure you bring the following...scented candles, firelighters, Firewood, cleaning wipes, basic cooking items such as oil, salt pepper, extra teabags, coffee, sugar, etc. toiletries and food! No takeaways in the immediate area bar a chipper 5km away. Local Centra and Supervalu 11kms away but I'd recommend bringing food. Ask how to work emersion and storage heaters on day one. Unfortunately if you get a disabled bathroom you will need to use towels to dry floor. Would still recommend staying here and will undoubtedly be back!
The location was unreal. The looped walks were amazing. Maggie, the host, was lovely Dogs welcome...and they loved it as much as we did. Very clean I've never slept so well!

NorwayThe cottage was clean on arrival, but its in need of some TLC as there are some wear and tear (we had to mend a couple of nails sticking up from the floorboard)
Ballyhoura Mountain Lodges is a lovely place in a beautiful rural area. On our arrival we were very well received in a friendly manner by the host. And she was available and helpful whenever we needed something. The cottage is equipped with whatever you may need for a long stay. Washing machine, dishwasher, a fully equipped kitchen - you name it, it's all there. The combined living room and kitchen is spacious with comfy furniture, so we felt very much at home. The place is situated in a quiet and peaceful rural area with plenty of possibilities for hiking and activities in the nature. The pictures give a good impression of the cottage and surroundings, but in reality it's even more cosy. The beds were very nice and comfy so we slept well all week.
