Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere are two individual cottages available. We had the smaller but it was still perfectly roomy for three adults. Two full baths. Kitchen essentials supplied (including a lovely apple tart!). The host John is utterly charming. The location overlooking the sea is just spectacular. Very easy walk down to Streedagh Beach. And the view of Benbulben in the other direction is gorgeous. We used this as a base for day trips to Slieve League and Donegal Town, stopped in at the Rusty Mackerel, Glencar Waterfall and Gleniff Horseshoe, Bundoran, and the Fairy Bridges. It's in a quiet area, so great sleeping.

IrelandCan't really think of anything that didn't live up to our hopes, except maybe the weather. All amenities were provided and the beds were comfortable. The house is a very warm house too.
Fantastic location with wonderful views all around. John was very friendly and helpful and the property had a lot of small touches that helped us with our stay. For example, prior to arriving, we had driven over to Coney Island and the two cars were splattered with salty sand. There was a hose and a brush in the yard for just such an eventuality.

United StatesJohn was the consummate host. He actually knew my relatives (that I hadn't yet met). He was wonderful and showed genuine sympathy for the loss of my sister. The beautiful paved walk that he made through the back of the yard that led to the road to Staad Abbey and the wild beach was amazing! I hope to be back. Maybe with enough family to use the larger cottage or both cottages!!

Our little two bed cottage was exactly as described, the area was quiet and peaceful but close enough to anything we wanted to do incuding lovely walks to the rocky shore beach and the beautiful Streedagh beach (longer walk) it was also close to many places of interest - the best of both worlds. We felt very relaxed there and recommend Beezies to anyone wishing visit Sligo.

IrelandWhat a beautiful, clean, warm and comfortable house with amazing views! John is such a fantastic host - he could not have been more accommodating. He had the heat and kettle on for us when we arrived, milk in the fridge and a beautiful cake and box of chocolates left for us to enjoy. We had such an enjoyable stay and would have no problem recommending Beezies. We hope to come back again someday! Thanks for everything John.

IrelandWhen we arrived John was there to give us a great welcome. The house was absolutely beautiful and located in a spectacular area. The views from the house are something that everyone should experience. The house is located very close to all amenities and there are things within a short drive away to do the young families. The experience that we had was brilliant and hopefully we will get to visit again very soon.

United StatesBeezies is the kind of accommodation you might dream about when planning an Irish holiday - a comfortable cottage in the countryside within a short drive of beaches, villages, mountain hikes, seaside resorts, & the city of Sligo. John is the consummate host, whose instinct for hospitality and attention to detail only make your stay more relaxing. What we also know (and hope you needn't learn firsthand) is that if misfortune should befall you during your stay, you can't ask for a better friend in your corner than John Feighney. We would recommend a stay at Beezies without hesitation.

United KingdomI was a bit disappointed that only one shower could be used at the one time I believe this was caused by the water pressure in the area and not any fault of the owner.
The location was perfect. As we arrived John opened up the cottage and explained the workings of the heating and immersion heater.
