Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandNo Toilet paper in the bathroom - had to request this from reception. Stains on the bed throw, stains on the cushions in the lounge. Mould in corners of showers. Mosaic tiles behind toilet poorly fixed. Lampshades not level. This is just some small things for future guests in the Pottery Suite if they pay the full rates that could make a difference.
Appreciated the complimentary upgrade - Pottery Suite was excellent. Fast and efficient check-in, very good directions to the room, information about meal times and facilities. Super comfortable bed and pillows. Bar service again very polite and efficient. Great parking facilities. Room amenities excellent.

IrelandI’d recommend this hotel with one condition: make sure you won't end up in one of the older rooms. Just to give you a sneak peek, I've included some pictures below to show what the unrenovated rooms look like. It's worth noting that these rooms were not the ones advertised on Booking.com, which showed the newly renovated ones in their ads and booking confirmation. Happy travels!
First off, the hotel's location was super convenient. There's a bus stop right outside that can whisk you to the city center in just 20-30 minutes. Now, here's where it gets interesting. We initially booked a room that looked all shiny and new on Booking.com, but to our surprise, the one we were assigned was straight out of a different era – old and, to be honest, a bit spooky. It even had that 'horror movie' vibe. But, hold on, don't let that scare you away! A quick chat with the receptionist, and they promptly moved us to one of their newly renovated rooms, complete with a heartfelt apology. That switch turned the tables, and we happily forgot about the initial room shock. However, it's worth mentioning for future guests that there is a chance of getting one of the older rooms, so it's something to be aware of when booking. The room's amenities were excellent – a refreshing shower with great water pressure and spotlessly clean. They even provided us with complimentary water and a coffee machine with four free pods – more than enough to start the day right. Everything in the newly renovated room met our expectations, and we'd definitely consider coming back. The only hesitation is the possibility of ending up in one of the older rooms. Another bonus is that the hotel's location is quite close to the main restaurants in town. We had the pleasure of dining at Aroi, which is a fantastic place to eat.

United KingdomMaybe too much chlorine in the pool? We all had really stinging eyes when any of the jets were on. Breakfast a little chaotic - appreciate that on a busy weekend that this can happen if you’re just one or two staff members short? Had to keep asking for orange juice. Then told there was none. I don’t drink tea/coffee so a bit of a shame. Then some orange juice appeared in the end. Also had to chase up the toast and we’d almost finished our food when it came out. Breakfast food choices were lovely though.
Great pool. Lovely meal in the bar. Great service. Good atmosphere as plenty of other customers. Great to not have to go out again in search of an evening meal.

IrelandWe ate in the bar - our bench seat had a big split in the fabric, tables had plastic sachets of ketchup, mustard, but cutlery was being served in really heavy linen type napkins which seemed a bit of a mismatch. We both agreed prices have shot up since our last visit, the food quality and eating location didn't warrant the prices - €20-22 for Burger and chips, Fish and chips. Instructions for the much appreciated coffee machine in the room would have helped.
Room was gorgeous, well presented, spotless. Ask for one near the front of the hotel as these have power showers and have been done up in recent years. The coffee machine was a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and efficient.
