How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Location, clean rooms and helpful staff. We drove down from Pune on Sunday afternoon. Colaba was super crowded. However, once up the stairs we found it quiet and peaceful. Quick check in.

No issues for the money
For a budget hotel in the middle of Colaba, I cannot fault this place. Friendly staff and helpful with eg where to get cash out.

Plumbing needs maintenance. Sink didn't drain and shower didn't have an even spray.

Difficult to find from the pavement - easier if you arrive in a car. Be careful not to go to one round the corner!

The staff kitchen next door to our room seemed to be used throughout the day for cooking and as a result there was a strong smell of curry in our room

Little difficult to find..it's next to Leopold cafe through a small entrance passing a few tailors shops

Sadly, there were no views out of my window, but it is understandable given the location of the hotel. Some rooms may have a view, but my view was simply a wall from another building.
Very clean room/bathroom and bedding. Very polite, friendly, helpful staff. Great location and reasonable price.

Cleanliness was overall ok (7/10). The bed and sheets were clean, other parts of the room including the bathroom could have been cleaned more thoroughly.
The staff was friendly and very helpful, they helped me out swiftly with anything I needed during my stay. Communication with the hotel was easy and smooth. The location is great, right next to Leopold Cafe and lots of sightseeing in the area.

The entrance ( it scared me !) it was just a door frame surrounded by street stalls .It didn't reflect the comfortable room The fact that it can"t be paid by credit card...

Nothing all fine
Great location right in the heart of Colabra. All the main tourist sights are easily walkable incl Gateway of India, Crawford market, Victoria Terminus. Very quiet even though you are on a main busy street. Also v comfortable beds and a great shower. Can't go wrong for the price! Would definitely return.

The entrance to the location could have been cleaner and attractive. Since the location was on an upper floor and there was no elevator, it could be challenging to carry heavy luggage upstairs.
I enjoyed my stay at Apollo Guest House in Colaba. The staff was courteous, and helpful throughout our stay. The location was close to may attractions in the vicinity as it was located on Colaba Causeway. The security is excellent. All in all, this place is good value for your money. I recommend this place.

Great value for money for Mumbai. Our room was clean, spacious and quiet (as far as it could be in this area). The location is convenient, although the street could be very crowded on weekends.

Certainly the biggest advantage is the nice owner, who is very helpful - he exchanged the currency at an attractive rate and advised on the SIM card. The room was very small and noisy, but neat and clean - the bathroom had hot water and met our expectations. The location is more than very good - next door to the legendary Cafe Leopold, close to the Gateway of India and the Taj Mahal hotel.

If being very picky, then a hairdryer would have been helpful but it wouldn't put us off staying at all.
Location was great, staff were helpful and friendly. We felt comfortable and safe during our stay.
