How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Everything was ok
Capital hotel is near the train busstation. Very busy place, but i liked it. I was suprised when I heard that i could have breakfast at Recidency hotel during my stay. 5 to10 minutes walk from capital. The staff of both places are very kind, helpful and polite. Very clean and save, cctv camera also. They always watch people come and go. So i can recomment both places. Note i saw only men at capital no women. Next time i will come back here. Taufeeq is a very kind guy and always shy and smiling. Very helpfull. A taxi with an Uber is plm. 500 mrp from the airport. Less than E6,--

There is vehicular noise from outside since the hotel is in a busy area.
The staff were very friendly and polite. The check-in process was extremely smooth. The room and bathroom were clean. It was good value for money. The location and entrance to hotel are easy to find if you follow Google maps. The beds were comfortable and all the facilities advertised are available in the room :-)

The only thing not working was the fridge (I didn't try TV), so the staff put fresh stuff in their fridge.
Good location near central railway station. Hotel is basic, but clean with large air-conditioned bedroom. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This hotel linked to Hotel Residency which is much smarter (twice the price), and a 7 minute walk away. Breakfast is provided at the Residency in bright air-conditioned dining room. Buffet breakfast was excellent for all tastes + complimentary newspaper, all sorts of drinks etc. Room on top floor had windows onto rooftops and glimpses of railway station etc. The door opens onto a balcony which was useful for drying washed clothing.

Room was next to a kitchen/cleaning area, and so was a bit noisy. Traffic was also very audible.
Breakfast was excellent, room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

Too much noise because it's just opposite VT central railway station and there are no windows inside the room.
The security person Taufiq was very helpful and even provided breakfast on the 1st day even though it was not a part of the stay. Water, fridge and other amenities were provided and when any other things required like glass and plates was provided asap. Very pleasant stay and would definitely want to come back to stay. This is just good for bachelor stay and not for families.

Room at roadside is a bit noisy, since Indian traffic uses a lot of horns. But, that stops later in the evening. And the staff offered me to switch rooms, so that was great. Hotel is a bit difficult to find, maybe a sign on the gate/roadside would be easier.
Great location, just across CSMT Station, and many sights in walkable distance. Staff was superfriendly and helpfull. Rooms were spacious and clean with great hot showers and nice soft beds. AC and fan, even a fridge. Absolutely worth the price. One of the best stays i've had in India. Staff mentioned that there were not much foreigners visiting the hotel, so don't tell too much people about this hidden secret at this amazing location. ;-)

Room smelled a bit smoky, as if someone had smoked inside before. A bit loud because of the traffic. Safe not working, hot water not always working.

Fridge still not working since last stay Air conditioning kept cutting out after about 20 minutes, had to be switched off and restarted. This was a problem as Mumbai hot and humid
I returned here at end of 6 week trip for flight home from Mumbai Very convenient location for main railway and central Mumbai attractions. Large clean room and shower room

When was entering into the gate i had lots of questions. there is no proper board also there to that hotel. there is no proper reception / Lobby in the hotel.

One of the best places in centre of Mumbai! Close to a lot of main attractions. Room is very spacious, clean, no weird smells. Staff is very helpful with everything you need. A bonus is the complimentary breakfast at nice hotel nearby

We had the deluxe room on the top floor and highly recommend this room. It's large, super comfortable, clean and has a great view. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location was perfect for sightseeing and shopping. Note that the hotel is mainly for business men but does accept foreign couples. This is not a typical hotel so if you want a lobby and something standard in terms of atmosphere, this hotel may not be for you. We found the hotel charming. It's an amazing deal for the price and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

They should put up some kind of sign. It was a little hard to find coming from the train station at night. Like others have said it’s across from the beautiful train station, but it’s not likely you will exit the station here. That said, the location on Google Maps is accurate.
Excellent value and friendly service. The room was very nice. The bed was so comfortable and had nice sheets and pillows. There was plenty for water in the room and a small fridge. Nice shower and hot water. This is a sister hotel of the Residency and breakfast is served there—a nice 10 minute walk. The breakfast was excellent and had everything you could want—including very friendly service. Finally, the staff at the hotel were helpful and I was able to arrange a late checkout. I would stay here again for sure!
