How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Need to replace the old furniture with modern furniture available in the market
It was an awesome experience staying at the Hotel. Location is fantastic, you can roam around the Marine Drive at night. Staff and service is really good Highly recommended.

Excellent location . It's just walking distance from Marine Drive and Churchgate Railway Station. The room and washroom were both neat and clean. staff were always friendly and polite.

The shower was mounted on the wall with very little pressure so it was more difficult to shower quickly. The a/c (air conditioning) unit was incredibly loud so I stopped using it.
It was a nice and clean room in a good location in Mumbai.

It would be nice if they had the bath tub so the water does not spill outside and it is not wet at the basin and the toilet.
The buffet breakfast was good and the washrooms were clean.

Reception up on 5th floor. No tea making in room. Breakfast could have been better.
Good location. Near Marine Drive and walkable to main attractions. Taxis in front of hotel. Clean and hassle-free.

The location of this hotel is perfect. Very close to the train station, marine drive and restaurants, also just a 20 minute walk to Taj Palace Hotel and Mumbai Gate. Keeping in to consideration that this is an older property, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the staff were lovely. I would definitely stay at this property again.

Check in took 25 minutes, it was hard for the check in person to believe the information in my official passport. He wanted to double check verbally all the info in my passport.

There was no hot kettle in the room, and they did not have any complementary tea or coffee. It is reasonable to expect given the price. As I was travelling with my child, I had to ask them multiple times through reception for hot water, but it was great that they always gave it immediately.
This hotel's location is fantastic. It's just a few feet away from Marine Drive. The Churchgate Railway Station and the adjoining bus stop are both within walking distance. The room and washroom were both neat and clean.

Nothing to dislike.
A great location near Marine Drive and Churchgate Station and a 15 minute walk to Gateway of India. The bedroom was spacious and clean, the staff are wonderfully friendly, the Indian/western breakfast great value. Before this Feb 2024 trip we were there preCovid and the rooms have been smartened up since then. If/when we are next in Mumbai this would be our choice for a reasonably priced hotel. It’s a very good value for money hotel.

The property is a bit old and the amenities are basic. It’s a decent place to stay and the staff were very nice.
It’s a great location close to restaurants, shopping, the subway, and the train station.

- The rooms shown in advert were not as same as what you get on the day. - We weren’t provided a kettle so it was hard to manage baby milk at night. - Even after booking months ago and placing a specific request We didn’t receive what we requested. No one rejected the request either so it was bit confusing. - Our room was next to kitchen and there used to be lots of loud noises starting from 3:30am. - The prime language of Mumbai, Maharashtra is Marathi. Same like Punjabi in Punjab, Gujrati in Gujrat and southern languages in south of India. Being born and brought up in Mumbai I take a pride in speaking in Marathi first. It feels less formal…it feels like home. Mumbai is multicultural city and appreciate that some people might have immigrated recently to Mumbai and don’t know the language. But when I spoke with a lady at reception in Marathi she rudely stopped me and ordered me to speak in Hindi. I felt the request could have been a bit more polite.
The property was kept clean all the time. Reception and lift staff were always friendly and polite. Location is best although the promenade to marine drive is always busy. Wardrobes have a small safe. Bathroom, toilets, rooms and corridor were kept clean all the time. Breakfast was ok and tea/coffee were rather very expensive. So we ended up ordering from a nearby Mani’s cafe. Do offer some cash tips to ground staff like lift men and cleaners
