My stay at Daragaon Retreat was nothing short of amazing! First off, the homestay is situated at lovely little Darap village which is the perfect place to unwind and soak in the slow-paced life of the locals. With fresh produce grown everywhere in the village (including the property) combined with the host's homely cooking skills, its hardly a surprise to say that the food was excellent. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the surrounding area, beautiful and the hosts were some of the loveliest people I've met in a while. Thank you so much for a memorable stay and I will definitely be back in the near future. Special shoutout to the cats and the doggo at the property and the lovely books in the bookshelf that I spent so much time with :)

Very clean rooms situated in a very nice garden. Lovely owners. Very tasty food. Location is great for taking a walk and enjoying the nature.

Nothing as such..

Mr. Shiva and his family members are very friendly. They host us like their own family members. The ambience of this homestay is really really good. So much greenery all the side. Coming to food, you'll get the homemade food with varieties at reasonable prices at this homestay. No need to order food from outside. Take their service, you'll be in profit. And the most important part is their farewell culture. They treat their guests as God - "Atithi Devo Bhava" So I recommend to visit this homestay to feel this.

If you are staying in Darap, this is where you should stay. From the ambience to the hospitality.... everything was amazing. The rooms are simply styled, but very comfortable and have all the amenities you need. The whole place is filled with plants, with even a little pond with frogs and fishes. The host, Gurung family, is just awesome....and so welcoming! And that shows in their food... which is home-cooked and tastes the best. Veg or non veg, whatever your preference, they make it really well. They have a dining space, but will also send it to your room on request. You get out on to your cottage balcony, and you can see the mountains on a clear day. It's quiet, peaceful, and simply the best place to stay in Darap.

I liked everything

Mrs Gurung and Mr.Gurung made our stay fabulous by going out of their way to ensure our well being. The food was super delicious, fresh and homemade which we couldn't stop eating. The rooms are big,neat and very clean. The cost is super reasonable as the location is idyllic and I felt like staying on for a long time. If in Pelling area, this is the place to be

As there are few restaurants around provision for lunch would be appreciated . Only for people who would like to stay back and relax and are not going for sight-seeing .

Little steep for us to reach the place but stay was quite enjoyable. Very homely simple freshly cooked breakfast and dinner. Shiva and Radha are very warm and caring people.

You have to climb quite a bit to reach the retreat (an effort for old and those with walking problems), but it is worth it.

It is a fantastic place to unwind. Food is great, staff is awesome and the retreat itself is simply amazing.

Property doesn't have the Kanchenjunga view for which Pelling is famous for... Darap is some distance away from Pelling where most of hotels are present, it is good to align upfront with taxi provider/tour operator regarding your choice of stay...

Very well landscaped property. Very clean rooms, common area. Sound of water in the property has a soothing effect. Dogs and Cats at the property will give you comfort. Food prepared by family with organic ingredients was very tasty. Shiva and family keep your individual preferences in mind and take care of it (we requested for yogurt for dinner, it was available with B/F with out requesting again). Shiva tries to connect with the guests during stay (like it should be in a homestay).
