We chose this hotel based on location (near to the Sri Harmandar Sahib ... Golden Temple) and other reviews. We were not disappointed. Communications with the owner, prior to arriving were excellent and very helpful. On arrival we found our room to be clean, spacious and well appointed. The owner and his staff could not have been more helpful and courteous. The owner gave us his time to explain, in detail, much about the Sri Harmandar Sahib, which greatly enhanced our visit. Not only that, he even took us there in his own car, by way of an excellent kulfa shop. For our second day he arranged a full day taxi tour, at very reasonable cost, enabling us to see many sights around the city, and also the border ceremony at Attari Border. Would highly recommend De Manora homestay.

It's a beautiful Property with all the amenities of a good hotel with 24 hour reception service, arrangement for transportation, garden area, ample parking space etc. The rooms were spacious and bathrooms were very clean and tidy. The USP of this hotel has to be it's owner and his sweet family. They are dedicated to make sure you have the best experience when it comes to visiting the Golden temple. The owner met with us before our visit to the Golden temple at 2:30 am which is a commendable gesture in itself. He explained in detail the importance and history behind the temple, especially the concept of service and prayers which is beautiful and thought provoking. They make sure all your needs are catered to above and beyond your expectations. The food here is really good. The in-house breakfast was amazing. Also, they make sure even if you order your food it is served hot. I would totally recommend this place, if you are visiting Amritsar especially for Golden temple.

Property is around 2.5.km away from Golden temple.

Rooms are very spacious and clean. The host is very friendly and helps us to plan the Amirtsar trip with all necessary information. Food from property is like home made food though bit expensive.

Everything was fine

The personal touch. The Owner Mr. Gurmehar Singh got involved in welcoming us, guiding us, telling us about the history of the city and the golden temple. He advised us on each day of our visit; what to see, where to eat and so on. Travel options and costs. This was very comforting. It was having a free guide. Its a home stay so don't confuse it with a hotel. For a home stay the rooms and wardroom were super, good size and clean. The staff were also like staff you would have in your own homes. The area is a good area close to a main junction with lots of options for visiting and eating a tuk tuk away.

It might seem funny but truly God made us reach here and we could never be more thankful since every part of this place gave us peace and directions in our life. Firstly, do have a thoughtful conversation with the owner. I found directions for my life but you may find something else attached to you coming out in a better way after meeting him. Second, the owner is a very knowledgeable person hence I would request everyone to plan an itinerary with him. The staff here should not be called as a staff but as a family since they treated us so in every manner. The food here is awesome. We had been out for nine days before coming here. But coming here made us feel like coming back to home. The food was served as hot as our mothers do to us. The food preparation and it's spices were no more or no less than required. The taste and quality according to me crossed anything that is served in 5 star or a 7 star property. I am getting short of words but I think all I want to say is a big THANK YOU!

The host, Gurmeher was very helpful. He is like a walking talking encyclopaedia. He went out of his way to tell us all about Amritsar and especially the golden temple. So many things we did not know about the temple. He was very humble and curteous. The weather was colder than usual and he went through a lot of trouble to keep us warm. I would highly recommend De Manora homes.

It seemed that we went from one home to another one. Excellant property especially Gurmehar who took extra care to make our stay comfortable. He checked on us at regular intervals till we checked in. He suggested great places for food and he shared some eye opening facts about Sri Harminder sahib which we didn't know. We would prefer this home to any hotel or any place else.

De Manora Homes is a really good place to stay. It is a hidden gem. We got a warm welcom and my request for early checkin was honored as well. The food was home-cooked, and as per requested. Superb service and they are available 24hrs for anything you need. I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Amritsar for any kind of visit.

The rooms and washroom were clean and well maintained. The owner is super passionate about travel, Amritsar and making the stay as comfortable as possible. He explained to us everything about golden temple which we definitely would have missed out upon. More so he called us before we reached and asked us to drive with caution as there was fog in the area. Whenever I will visit Amritsar in future, would definitely prefer staying in De Manora homes. On a side note, do ask the owner about the name of the place.

there was nothing which we didnt like

The Stay at De manora was super. we had seen the previous review and with 5* rating we were sure it would be good, however from our personal stay as well it was an excellent decision for us to stay at this place. Gurmohar the host of the hotel is very good, kind and helpful person he gives all the information about Golden temple, and other locations, what food to try shopping all detials.

The weather was extremely chill when we went so the room heater wasn't sufficient to heat the whole room. I recommend anyone else travelling to ask for two room heaters if one is not enough. Everything else was great! This isn't a hotel with 24 hours room service, so one would need to manage expectations accordingly to a homestay.

The owner was very friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful with tips on planning the day's itinerary (along with a beautiful illustration on the Golden temple's history). All the rooms are on the Ground floor, so there's no pain of carrying suitcases up and down the stairs. As a homestay, it met all the expectations one would have for a neat, affordable and memorable stay. We'll definitely come back here next time.

Nothing much...

The room was spacious and clean. Very comfortable stay. The staff was very cooperative and well behaved and the owner was just awesome. Apart from the stay, we got new learnings on Harminder Sahib which we were not aware of. Will definitely recommend this property to all others who are planning to visit Harminder Sahib.
