How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I got my AC room on the top floor
Everything was good only one problem I got was I got my AC room on the top floor which was very tried for me to come up & down. But the family who run the home stay are very wonderful people

The homestay was situated near Mahabodhi Bihar, just a short walk from the Bihar and other eateries. I chose this place because they offered an early morning checkin. Sunita aunty was very warm with us. The room and bed linens were clean, and the AC worked fine. We were provided with necessary amenities such as tissues, soaps, glasses, and even mosquito nets. My mom really enjoyed the experience.

I liked the facilities: very clean, hot water, toilet paper if needed, filtered drinking water, mosquito net, strong WI-FI... Friendly, welcoming hosts, helpful and dedicated in case you need anything. Quiet neighborhood but 5 mins from Bodhi Tree temple.

There was nothing I didn’t like but there are a few things to be prepared. There is only one electric socket in the room (or I didn’t find another one). Hot water for shower is available only during certain hours. But it was not a problem really.
My room was clean and relatively quiet. It had everything necessary including warm blankets. I stayed alone but can imagine that it would be still comfortable for two. Owners are very friendly and helpful. The area is also ok. Just 10 minutes walk from the main temple. There are many cafes around with Asian and Western food. One can see stupa from the roof. I also liked that I could open window for fresh air.

The locks of the room need changing as they are old and it's not so easy to open or close them.
The location of the place is really nice, especially having a café attached to the annex of the building. The owner is quite helpful and cooperative. The balcony is nice.

Personally, the location of the stay, which is just next to mahabodhi stupa. Restaurant attached serves you good meal. Overall ambience of the property is magnetic.

Mosquitos, no hot water in evenings, room a bit smaller, a single queen bed or king size bed would be better for solo travellers.
Close to mahabodhi temple and other places, helpful owner organised taxi late night, restaurant downstairs in very good, hot water early morning, cleaning done as requested.

No lift facility for high floor but owner was very kind to help with the luggage. Water heater might be down at times but owner would try to get it fixed.
Very welcoming and helpful owner and responding to requests quickly. The property is well maintained, neat and clean. It was a comfortable and happy stay overall, thumb-up!

As it's covered with lush green all around it's filled up with mosquitos so make sure you carry your mosquito repellent creams with you. It's only in my case I guess as I have not checked all rooms but the washroom was Indian and pics showed western. So people with leg pain issues or travelling with old age members please make sure to get that confirmed before booking.
The owner was always available and ready to help. It was awesome stay as she was welcoming and service provided was also quick and easy. I would highly recommend people on low budget to visit this place but make sure to book AC rooms and not the Fan rooms. As weather in Gaya is really hot.

There is no lift available which is the only concern.
Nice and clean room with very helpful staff. Hotel is located at a walking distance from Bodh Gaya temple so definitely worth trying if you are planning to visit the temple.

I loved this place so much that I'm extending my stay. Sunita Aunty is the sweetest. She makes sure you are hydrated (offers chilled and free drinking water) and attends to any request you may have. And yet she allows you your privacy. Homestays can be annoying with overbearing hosts but not this one. The room is of course lovely. Location wise too it's perfect. Another plus point is the adjoining cafe called Om International. Their food is just what I needed as a sure supply of home like meals and drinks after my long day out in field. They deliver at doorstep too for no extra charge in case you're dead tired like me in the evenings. In short, this stay is the best!! Would love to return to the Dwarka stay anytime I'm back in Bodhgaya.
