Beautiful Portuguese house decorated with vintage furniture, with a lot of charm, conveniently located. James welcomed us very warmly and made us feel very comfortable. We had a great time there, definitely recommend!

A unique experience - both the property and its owner James are overflowing with character. The neighbourhood is interesting and well-located. LGBT+ friendly. We would have liked to stay longer.

I really can’t think of anything else we needed.

This is a delightful, picturesque property and location. The staff was lovely and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at home - offering lemon soda when we returned from exploring hot and sweaty, coffee and chai when we woke up in the morning. Pandu and Jaban (sp?!) made this place extra special. Be sure to have a meal prepared by Jaban - he’s an excellent cook!! The room had an adequate AC unit (it doesn’t get very cold, but we’re not big on AC so it was enough to cool the room before we turned it off and went to bed with the fan on) and period furniture. We loved that it was a family home and enjoyed meeting James, the owner. He has a lovely boutique upstairs that I wish we’d discovered earlier! Overall this was an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai - we highly recommend it.

The room was a bit small, won't be an issue if you're traveling solo. But, the location and proximity to south Bombay attractions make this homestay value for money.

Amazing homestay and hospitality by the Ferreiras!!! I was sceptical in booking it, but took my chances and wasn't disappointed. The home owner and support staff are just amazing people. Would highly recommend and love to return again here.

Pandu was an excellent helper and host to us for our stay in Mumbai. We never expected to feel so welcomed and comfortable. I was unwell and spent most of one of the days in bed (a cold I. Roughy from London) and Pandu offered to run to get whatever I could needed. The feel of the place is authentic, living history and homely. I can’t imagine a better stay in mumbai

The house is located down a narrow alley that may be difficult to find at first if being dropped off by car.

The home is beautifully decorated with a private room complete with air conditioning. Close proximity to many popular landmarks in south Mumbai and within ~30-40 minutes to airport. Mr. Ferreira and his assistant Pandu were communicative, friendly, and with a wealth of local recommendations. Breakfast each morning was delicious.

It is down a small alley so taxi’s can’t go down it or seem to know where it is in general. Make sure to be dropped off on the bigger roads.

What a hidden gem! James Ferreira and Pandu made us feel very at home in their house right from the start. The house is over 200 years old (rare for Mumbai) and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the closeness to busy main areas whilst still having a quiet place to come back to. They also whip up a lovely breakfast and tasty tea! Would recommend to anyone wanting to understand Mumbai a little deeper.

Perhaps more amenities in the shared bathroom like toilet paper, more towels, soap, etc.

I loved how James and his assistant Pandu were always attentive to every request. Pandu wandered around with me to get the kurta that I needed for a wedding an ensured that I paid a fair price. He accompanied me to make sure I made my train when I left. They helped arrange for favorable exchange rates of USD to Rupees from local stores. They really went above and beyond for me. The location is great because its centrally located near Marine Drive.

The Ferreiras' host, James, is wonderful to talk to and gives a genuine welcome to guests. Also, Bandu, his 'right hand' is a valuable help when you have difficulties. A place of fine character in an interesting neighborhood. Very comfortable and within a quick ride to Colaba. You won't regret choosing this for your stay.

Its quite far away from the airport but worth the drive. I would suggest a 2 night stay, we only stayed one night would have preferred to stay longer.

Traditional house in a surprising quiet part of the mumbai old city. Hosts fabulous and very friendly. Such a treat to stay somewhere so homely and traditional. All original furniture. Excellent local indian breakfast - best we had while in india. Aircon very cold. Clean bathroom.

Its not very near the airport! Took us 2.5 hours to get there and 2 hours to get back distance wise its not very far but i didnt account for the mumbai traffic! We only stayed one night so not ideal for that but would be BRILLIANT for 2-3 nights.

Its a really lovely traditional house in the old part of mumbai. Family are lovely very helpful. Breakfast was brilliant. Highly recommended.
