Liked everything

We recently had a wonderful stay at 1st Gate Home – Fusion in March 2024. The spacious rooms with Rajasthani decor created a lovely atmosphere and were well-maintained and clean. The people who worked there were really friendly and gracious and went out of their way to help us and give us advice. It truly was a home away from home. The food in the restaurant was fabulous – so tasty and lots of variety. And the buffet breakfast was great with lots of selection and also included local dishes. The breakfast room was available throughout the day for people to relax with free drinks and home-made cake. Wonderful service and hotel. It was perfectly located right at the bottom of the fort and central to everything.

The rooms are all different, so it took a little navigating for our group of 4 couples to figure out who got which room. We were thrilled with room 13, a deluxe king.

1st Gate Home was fantastic. The people were lovely. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. It was nice to have fruit and water out all day and cakes in the afternoon. You can not beat the location right at the foot of the fort. And the rooms are very nice and well decorated with comfortable beds. And all for a very reasonable price. Manoj and his team are doing a great job!

The price is a little high for Jaisalmer

They took care of all our needs, very attentive, wevbooked a night of safari and it was excellent away from tourists in a small village. Any drinks are available all day. They make wonderful drinks and tea and we asked for that several times a day

There was nothing not to like only high praise.

Welcomed & treated as if one of the family. Management and staff were always accommodating, friendly, cheerful & helpful. There was always an air of relaxation plus every part of 1st Gate was exceptionally spotlessly clean & tidy. (A credit to management & staff). Management helped plan and advise how to get the best from our stay. The meals that were available were exceptional and just like home made. Would not hesitate to visit again or recommend to friends and family. Special thanks to Manog & Chanda.

A lovely place in Jaisalmer in a great location with amazing staff - thank you so much to Chandan and Sam who were very kind and took good care of us whilst we were unwell. The rooms here are beautiful and complete with spacious beds. There is also a gym, small pool and many common areas with comfortable sofas for reading and relaxing. The food here was also very good and the freshly made cake each day was an added bonus!

Outstanding location close to the fort gate. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel with lots of details taken care of. Staff is most welcoming and friendly. They help you where they can, like organizing a desert jeep sunset tour for a good price. Restaurant serves tasteful Indian and Italian vegetarian dishes, which are spicy but not hot. Breakfast is very good. The roof top gives you an amazing view of the fort after sunset (and just walk up there after dinner…). Rooms are large as is the bathroom. Just an amazing place where we would stay all the time when returning to Jaisalmer.

Only point we can think of is that some italians might be offended by some courses offered in the hotel's restaurant. Cabonara sauce wasn't done properly and the bruchetta came with melted cheese on top? But not a big deal, everything else was perfect and the pizza really good!

Really nice and welcoming staff, they also organized our guide and packed us some sandwiches for the way! Clean rooms and the first hotel so far where everything comes up to or even exceeds our expactations. Location is directly near the fort but noise at night is not loud or disturbing at all. Pool and chill area is totally relaxing and looks like on the pictures! We even stayed one more night and got a room upgrade :)

Despite a couple of initial room issues, the staff's swift and efficient resolution exceeded expectations. The service was outstanding—organizing convenient pickups, offering to keep the kitchen open for our late arrival, and providing thoughtful snacks upon arrival and departure. The rooms were not only impeccably clean but also tastefully decorated, contributing to an overall delightful stay. The hotel's location is superb, situated right next to the fort entrance. A charming touch to our stay was the presence of Simba, a friendly dog at the hotel who checks on the well-being of the guests. Highly recommend for a memorable experience.

Absolutely nothing to fault this property

What a wonderful place to stay. I cannot recommend enough. The building is stunning with great facilities. Best of all were the staff and Manoj. Needed a doctor and Manoj sorted it without any fuss. The view from the top floor to the fort is stunning. Simba the dog is lovely too.

Super hotel in a fantastic place! The people are gentle and very helpful, the dinner in the terrace is something to remember forever. They treat the Clients in a fantastic way and they take care of you from the single moment you enter in the hotel. It is one of the best hotels I have ever been and for sure the best in terms of how they take care about the Clients.

Entrance of the hotel is not so great . It’s at car parking / entry of fort . It’s a boutique hotel so don’t expect facilities and infrastructure of big chain of 5 star hotels .only pne thing I felt that hotel is little overpriced but after stay I felt it was still ok. Breaksfast spread is not huge and is repeated but whatsoever they serve us really yummy

Excellent location with and a very warm and hospitable staff. They arranged meds for my son and arranged to get me famous Jaisalmer sweets from city I wanted to carry with me. Decorated my dinner table with flowers and candles and offered a blanket on the dining chair as it was winter. Hotel offers unlimited supply of tea, coffee , mineral water into the room. Beds are too Comfy. Big room size . Room has free supplies of cookies , fruits, chocolates . On top of everything, it’s the hospitable staff that wins your heart . Each guest gets here personalised attention.

Location, professional & friendly staff, large rooms, excellent breakfast, first-class restaurant on rooftop, and coffee, cake and snacks on endless supply. What’s not to like? Also a special mention to the staff who helped us when our flight out was cancelled at late notice. They provided us with a number of options, then were able to get us on an overnight bus back to Jaipur to get our next flight. Even supplied us with sandwiches and snacks for the trip then escorted us to the bus. First-rate service because in there words, we were ‘family’.

This is the only place you should stay in Jaisalmer. Period. The End. Manoj and his guys are the best, their skill and hospitality are unmatched. The food is freaking great, they can do pizza that’s better than 95% of what I get in the states. Think about that, some dudes in the desert of India flat out school a place know for pizza. That just par for the course at 1st Gate. You are taken care of like you’re family. They handled any request we had, as I heard several times “Anything is Possible”. Nailed it every time. And the location? Just book your stay and don’t look back, this is exactly the place you want to be to experience how amazing Jaisalmer is. Oh, and wait until you meet Simba, Manoj’s dog. He’s chillest, gives zero F’s and is like the mayor of Jaisalmer. Did I say just stay here when you come to Jaisalmer?
