Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe insect mesh in my bathroom had fallen away- but actually the mosquitos were not bad there. We had no view from out rooms in the ground floor - windows were opaque and net curtains a bit grubby but this is a budget hotel in India so no big deal!
We wanted to stay right in the bazaaar and Gopi is right there with bite of the temple from the roof restaurant- very atmospheric! Rooms were clean and colourful- I paid for an a/c room which worked. Rabi and his family and staff were brilliant at looking after us. We took tour of ruins and to the Hanuman temple with his brother driving the rickshaw and we wanted to go bouldering and he referred us to the instructor, Sunni

United KingdomBeds were hard but that’s the norm for budget India hotels.
This is a decent budget hotel very close to India Gates & many shops & places to eat on the doorstep. We paid £38 per night for 3 people for a room with aircon. Staff were polite, pleasant & very helpful.

IndiaThe soap and toilet paper there were not.
Mada it's a marvellous host, kindly, smiling and hi take care and support about your safe journey. Guest house it's in the middle of the Village really closed to Virupaksha temple and the entire archeological site very important and beautiful in Karnataka. On the rooftop you see the panorama at 360° and the Thungabahdra river, the valley of the big stones and banana 🍌 and sugar cane plantations. The room it's comfortable and big enough for 1 or 2 people. Double bed with forniture and table with 2 chairs. The bath is ok. The restaurant it's on the second floor and International and good taste. Quite and nice place.

AustraliaThe WiFi was out more than in.
Gopi House was located right in the centre of old Hampi amongst ruins, temple's, huge bolders a river and coconut palms🌴. The food was very good. I welcomed the grated beetroot and carrot salad with olive oil. Our room was ground floor, cool, dark & the AC worked a treat, The staff were very helpful and organised some day tours. They also accommodated our 5am arrival and 11pm departure from Hospet by arranging for a great driver named Ram to pick us up and drop us off. Well after check out time, were able to shower in a spare room before departure so we arrived at the bus stop feeling fresh.

New ZealandIt was very hot in Hampi but that is purely due to the tine of year we visited
Location is top notch! We stayed 2 nights in the nonAC room first. The building is in the heart of the community. You get to feel like your part of all the local happenings below, which is really special in this sacred place. We then stayed 1 night in the AC room. Very tidy, clean and comfortable large room in the main building with the rooftop cafe. The owners are extremely helpful. We saw other guests in arranged tuktuk tours which are cheap and organised by the guesthouse. We used them to organise a tuktuk for us for a night bus we had leaving Hampi. We found most of the guests to be foreign tourists (of all ages), which suited us at the time for a social atmosphere. No meat or beer here as Hampi is a holy town 😀

AustraliaThe hot water was never very warm.
Very close to the temple and ruins. It is situated in the middle of Hampi, shops, restaurants, tuk tuks all very near. We were able to store our bags at the guest house and have a shower, after checkout, before heading off to our train in the late afternoon.

Germanythe bathroom was somewhat damp - it is very hot and the limited air circulation in the bathroom did not help. A better ventilation system in the bathroom would help.
Great location in the center of Hampi and ideal as basecamp for exploring the area by trek and bike. We stayed for two nights and loved the accommodation and food. Staff is very helpful and helps with organizing guides (definitely take a one-day guide for 2000 rupees, so much worth it!!) and rickshaws.

United KingdomCleanliness of the room could be improved but everywhere in Hampi feels a bit grubby lol!!! This was one of the most expensive rooms on our 3 month trip so far and no way near as nice as other places - I think that's a Hampi thing!! Watch out for the monkeys 🐒 🙈!!!
Good location as a base to explore Hampi, close to major temple sites. Friendly staff willing to organise tours and help with transport arrangements. Great cafe with a good choice of freshly prepared food. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom and efficient AC A highlight for me was meeting Lakshmi the Temple elephant on her way to bathing in the river and receiving a blessing from her ♥️
