Didn’t get a towel

I really enjoyed my stay. I had the budget room which is simple but clean and comfortable. The location is great as it is on a little island but close to town. You always get free rides to the mainland. Best part is the hospitality and friendliness of the owner. I was greeted with chai and had great conversations about Kashmiri culture and life

If Electricity supply was more regular it would have been good but then that is not in control of Farooq bhai. Inspite of that he made hot water available for bath.

The owner Farooq bhai took personal care to ensure our comfort during our stay. If there was no hot water he ensured its availability by burning logs since electricity supply was not there sometimes. He checked that the quality of food was as per liking. He also shared with us the places we should visit besides the standard Pahalgam and Gulmarg. He made us feel at home. Also the WIFI is very good at this house boat.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Green View HB. Farooq and his sons were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was great, breakfast and dinner delicious, and the location is perfect. In a nutshell, I strongly recommend!

Breakfast choice is limited, and bucket bathing only in basic room

I extended my stay here to a week as I enjoyed the place and location. There was no issue or charge getting to shore anytime, with three boats. Farooq is a kind soul, and an entrepreneur. The prices for hiking etc he sorted were fair. The set up of my basic room was modest, as is the cooking. Greenview worked for me though :)

The boat initially( accommodation ), but Farooq and his 2 son added a friendly, family feel to my stay, with helpful information, theirs shops and restaurants, 5 minutes boat ride away, which Farooq is always happy to oblige WiFi was good, Nice view from boat house terrace / balcony

At night it was quite cold, being on the lake (it began snowing the next morning). However the hosts did everything they could to ensure I was comfortable with a heater and very warm electric blanket.

Staying on a houseboat on Dal Lake was a very special experience. There is something very calming and peaceful about being surrounded by water. The nearby view of the snow-capped mountains was absolutely breathtaking. Picturesque and beautiful. Very welcoming hosts. Comfortable room. Good food. Bottled water readily available because the owners regularly host foreign visitors. They speak English well (particularly Faizan who speaks English fluently). This is helpful for many foreign visitors to communicate for anything they might need as well as to gain insight into Kashmiri life.

Rates are decent and justified to the services provided. Had a very comfortable and homely stay. Farooq bhai is a down-to-earth pious man who humbly runs the boathouse. It was a lovely 3-day stay with other inmates. The common hall is warm and comfortable at all times. The prompt services of Ramzan, the helping hand at the boathouse is a great benefit. All my work - from arranging my cab for pickup and drop to airport, arrangement of all my cab travels in Kashmir, helping me buy genuine Kashmiri clothes, perfumes and stuff right at the boathouse, was arranged by Farooq bhai. One thing i must surely add is that here anyone if any religion can stay comfortably for there is absolutely no barrier of any kind. Surely, whenever i come i will choose this
